Cech Has Shoulder Operation!

Cech Has Shoulder Operation!

After suffering the shoulder injury that saw Petr Cech helped off the pitch, against Atletico Madrid, in the first leg of the Champions League semi-final, news has filtered through relating to our #1 keeper.

It would appear that Cech has now undergone corrective surgery to fix the injury and that the 31 year-old, who had delayed the operation in the hope of being kind of fit for a Champions League Final appearance, will be out of action for two and a half months.

Discussing the situation, a club spokesman has remarked,

"Cech successfully underwent surgery."

"He will be out for approximately eight to ten weeks."

With the Czech Republic not having qualified for the 2014 World Cup Finals, in Brazil, the operation gives Cech plenty of time to recuperate ahead of next season where it is more than likely, he`ll be facing stiff competition for the goalkeepers` jersey from a certain Thibaut Courtois.

I hope Cech has a speedy recovery , but I am very much hoping that we have Courtois as #1 next season. IMHO, it will be criminal if we don't. We need to get Courtois here working for Chelsea not having inappropriate dreams of going to Barcelona or anywhere else.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery Petr. You still have the unfinished business of breaking David James BPL record of clean sheets in the BPL.
