Nobody Is Safe Any More

Nobody Is Safe Any More

But surely the axe isn`t getting ready to fall on our Jose is it?

Although, following on from a trophy-less season, we`d be amazed if Chelsea Football Club were to dispense with the services of Jose Mourinho, it was interesting to listen to Jose Mourinho discuss the subject of job stability during his pre-match press conference ahead of the trip to take on Cardiff in South Wales.

As entertaining as ever, this is what Jose had to say on the subject matter,

"In football now there must be something really special between a manager and club, or the manager must be really something special to be there for five, 10 years."

"I`m not saying I`ll have that security to be here until the end of my contract or beyond."

"I just try and prove I can do my job and the Chelsea job is different than in previous years."

"It`s easy to analyse. The team that won the trophies was a team with a certain structure, not just tactically, but by personality point of view, and that team doesn`t exist anymore."

"Chelsea need to build another team with some similarities to that one."

"I don`t have security. Nobody has that security in football."

"David Moyes signed a six-year contract at Manchester United but he doesn`t get to the end of his first season."

I guess it`s the continually changing, but not always for the better, face of our sport.

Agreed. But I think Jose will have the whole of next season at least if not one more to stabilise, improve and win with this team. Work for next season must start immediately.

Best comment of the press conference "I'm not the club, I'm the manager." for those who keep Confusing Jose with CFC.

Jose is one of the smartest managers in the business. Noone needs to tell him that the chelsea ownership is not like the Gunners ownership. He knows he wont be given 8 trophyless seasons to tinker and frankly the man has too much pride and drive for success..he would resign rather than endure that kind of extended run of mediocrity. This following season will be critical both for our club and for determining how much of his initial 4 yr contract he will complete. He knows it and we all do.

I really hope, we finish our business before world cup...We should formulate a winning formula in the pre-season and should be fighting for a quadraple next year. (want 1 of PL or UCL, atleast 2SFs, 1 Final)

I feel Mourinho was on the right path to the EPL title but squandered it with his experiments. CFC 1st eleven is strong enough to beat any team in EPL but playing a statue in midfield did not help him any better even though it endeared him to the fanatical fans. In his second season he wont be afforded any luxury so He will play his strongest players. After this second season I dont foresee him staying at the club.

Quality Midfielders - Quality Midfielders - Quality Midfielders ---- That s all we need. Offload Torres., Etoo is going already.. offload, Mikel, Ramires, Lampard Luiz and Oscar ( if PSG comes with something crazy) . Retain Ba and Lukaku, Hazard Willian . Buy Barkley, and maybe Ratikic . promote Ake, Swift and Baker and bring back Markovic and Moses. I prefer Moses to Willian anyway. Ba is quality and if given quality balls will definitely put them away. He has no problems with his confidence and clearly does not need a arm thrown around him to perform.
