Decisions, Decisions, Decisions!

Decisions, Decisions, Decisions!

With the end of the 2013 / 2014 season fast approaching there are, as we are all aware, numerous decisions to be made regarding the future of several of the playing staff.

One player who will be keen to get his future sorted out is Ryan Bertrand.

Currently on loan at Aston Villa, Bertrand is set to return to Stamford Bridge to decide where he`ll be plying his trade in the 2014 / 2015 season.

Talking about the future, Bertrand is quoted in the press, this morning, as having remarked,

"I`ll go back to Chelsea and if they want me to play then that would be great."

"Should it be other options I suppose the ball is in their court."

"It`s something we`ll sit down and talk about in the summer. At this stage in my career I need to be playing. I don`t want to be sitting on the bench next season."

"I feel I`m more than ready. I deserve the chance to play there consistently, with the experiences I`ve had under numerous managers."

"I`ve learnt from some of the best players at the highest level. The likes of Didier, JT, Lamps, Ash directly in my position."

"I feel it`s my time. I`m 24, I`m looking forward to getting settled for the first time."

What`s your view?

Is Bertrand, a hero of that night in the Allianz Arena, ready to inherit the left-back spot from Ashley Cole of will he be moved on this summer?

The problem with the Berty benched, Azpi at LB, Luiz covering at CB issue all falls down to Mou and playing Iva practically every game at RB.

One of the way City broke down smaller teams defenses is with their full backs that joined the attack stretched the play and with them on the wings there was more players at the box, just look at the goal against Villa on their last game 1st goal came from a full back passing it to the box! Ivanovic is a beast at defending and corner kicks but he can't be a winger Azpi plays out of position so all he can do is defend, this is one of the reasons why Chels couldn't break tight defenses,is lack of offensive full-backs.

To me, Bertrand can be our own Shaw if given proper guardian! The only area we need to strengthen is our cf, of which buying either of Greizman or Ciro and bringing Lukaku back will do a whole lot. Time to start trusting our lads and giving them the chance to prosper!!!! I foresee Matic case if we get rid of him now

honest i don't trust him in that left back position. Yes! And that's me, not Jose nor the club management. I've watched him severally, his first flaw i detected was his inability to put a good cross while running down the left flank. By that i mean the kind of incisive cross a good left back could put through to the opponent's 18yard box which a striker(not Torres type) could benefit from. That being said, he's quite poor in recovery (to track back) after losing possession to the opponent. i see him wanting out this upcoming transfer window.

This guy was playing well for us before Jose came, I don't know how he suddenly became a bad player and unfit for chelsea under Jose without been tested.

He is still young and can be molded into a great LB.

@Zarvoon.I've been saying the same all season. It's criminal the Jose hasn't combined Azpi and Willian together on the right side of our team, todo the exact thing that City have done to break down defences. Azpi got switched to RB against Liverpool when Iva got injured and pulled the ball across from the end line for Eto'o to score the winner. Why the hell has Jose not figured this out?

Wish he could be our no.1 LB but don't now if it will happen or he has the goods needed for the position to be his on a permanent basis/ We'll see what happens in the summer.

I want him to be our No1 LB next season, with PVA backing...Azpi can be the fall back plan...But Azpi-Cahill-Terry-Ryan should be the first choice. with Iva, Zouma, Kalas, PVA playing backups...

He fulfills the HG quota...he is better option for us.

Would prefer if he was sold and Moreno brought in with PVA as back up. Iva reverts back to CB with Cahill and Azpi back to RB roles... whoever we play at fullback positions next season, they need to go for 3 - 4 weeks intensive training on crossing the ball accurately.
