Record Kept

Record Kept

Although we can look at the table and weep knowing that if we`d not under-performed in several games against lesser teams it`d be us celebrating winning the Premier League title.

But, as we`re well aware, you can`t turn back the clocks and we`ll have to live with our fragility of the season that has just ended.

However, if there is one crumb of comfort we can take from yesterday it is that Manchester City, despite passing the 100 goal mark, didn`t pass our record breaking total, achieved under Carlo Ancelotti in the 2009/10 season when Carlo`s side amassed 103 goals!

we also hold the greatest goal difference of +71 also in 2009/10 although the real highest goal total was 128 in 1930/31 by Villa

zillion, I'm afraid Aston Villa in 1930/31 is ancient history as far as this article is concerned seeing as it is talking about the modern game and not some prehistoric round leather game....

In retrospect, Abrahamovic shouldn't have fired him. We would have probably been at the youth production, financially self sustaining world class level that we've been trying to achieve. Wish Don Carlito all the best in the CL finals.

kola I quite agree. The best way to keep that record is just simple, break it. Take a queue from Messi

I have always thought sacking Carlo was crazy although the ripple effect of the sacking ended up with us winning the Champions League and getting Jose back. This season was by far our best league season since 2010 so we have finally got back to where we should be - challenging for the BPL & UCL. Let's hope Roman doesn't lose the plot again.
