'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Cole Is Definitely Off

The last home game of the season saw Ashley Cole give the broadest hint that he would be leaving Chelsea Football Club.

His body language and the tears rolling down his cheeks were, to many, a dead giveaway that his time, as a Chelsea player, was up.

Overnight, the news broke that after joining Chelsea, from Arsenal, and making 229 appearances in a Chelsea shirt, Ashley wasn`t going to accept the offer of the one-year contract place don the table by the club and was looking to move to pastures new with a source from within Stamford Bridge remarking,

"He`s leaving us for sure."

There are strong rumours that both Liverpool and Inter Milan are pondering over a move for the recently retired from international football 33 year-old left-back, let`s hope it`s the latter, the former doesn`t bear thinking about

will be sad to see him leave but a timely decision - will be a big loss to the club. Now could Mangala be his replacement given his recent declaration that he would prefer Chelsea over City ? ir should we look to another?
Blue_Mel
I hope he doesn't go to a PL rival (Loserpool mainly), but the quality of his new contract will be the decider, and not necessarily down to largest salary offered (although if so, who can blame him for a golden swan song). He will be missed, and it's slightly sad that his departure will have happened without anyone taking much notice. He deserved more of a send off.
BlueABS
He will go to a top four club. Not a good decision to let him go. Mourinho has ruined his Chelsea career.

fv what is your problem exactly man?? *sighs*
Tunez
Best of Luck to Ashley! A True Blue Legend. Our most consistent player for many years. One of the Best Left Backs Ever. Thank you for your service. Will always respect you Ash. My top 3 best player.
StamfordDLion
The man who played a big role in bringing Cole to the club has ruined his career lol Foreign cracks me up with his one liners lol Happy Trolling!
StamfordDLion
He was good for us, but we should try to focus on future...Not to be cared, even if he end up in LPool...Best wishes...Bertrand, PVA, Azpi will be the future for us.
Blu_run
He was a great player for us but time has caught up with him. He's lost his pace and can't recover like he could due to ongoing ankle problems. In the last two seasons he never seemed to find a Chelsea player with a cross after overlapping. When I saw Elmohamady from Hull, run past him and pull away,I knew that was it.Thanks for the memories and good luck in the future.
THEBREEZE
Thanks Ashley the "Shooter" Cole for everything.. please join Carlo in Real Madrid for your swansong.. or Lampard at LA Galaxy

Mourinho ruined his Chelsea career fv? He started his Chelsea career, the man would still be winning nothing if he hadn't joined us!
Seabourch
Gutted to see Ash leave. All the best to him in future. He leaves as an all time legend. Best leftback in history Chelsea and England and arguably the best in the world in the last decade and half. Through all the upheavals of the 8 years he has been in here. he has stood out consistently with top performances. A top professional. He is a genuine blue and we wish him the very best. Thank you for all the memories, you will be missed. ##cfc4ever #legend

Bring back Ryan Bartrand or Patrick van Aanholt! maybe under Jose mourinho they can excel!

Sad to c u go bt we av to move on.. Greatest ever leftback in history of england. We will surely misd u. #coleLegend

Sad day for blue nation for sure. If he stayed, we would have the best second choice LB.
icebluelg
I love ashley. Very professional, can do a job, ever consistent and knows his onions through and through. Started very young and continued into his 30's playing at the very very top. Not many professional players has that - did i hear anyone say ronaldinho? ;) #Legend #AC3 #CFC
kolagold25
If we buy a RB it means Jose wants to permanently make Azpi his first choice LB which won't be good as far as am concerned. I feel we should get an experienced LB like Filipe Luis and recall Ryan to be his backup. Let Azpi be our first choice RB, his crossing and pace are really good, he will add alot to our attack from RB.
SameX
Agree with StamfordDLion's sentiments & would also agree with THEBREEZE, his best performances, going forward anyway, ceased a couple of years ago. Sentiment is fine for we fans but too much of it can get managers sacked, we need to have the very best we can get & that's no longer Ashley.
analooish
That's no longer ashley? @analooish. Remember JT was deemed done and dusted by many under rafa only to be back to his ever solid self this season. This is the first time i'd seen cole had a 'bad' season hence i won't be so quick to write him off. If he has to go he has to go and if he wants to stay am good with that too.
kolagold25
I mean no disrespect to Ashley Kola but our manager didn't believe him to be the best left back option available to him last season either.
analooish
azpi is the best LB in the league... leave him there. Need a new right back, is wallace ready? Is it me or does anyone else think we need another CM? I feel we need someone their to partner Matic. think we can get Martinez from Bayern as he isnt getting much of a look in by pep. Would love to see Koke partner matic if I had my choice.
Ess...DaBison
Azpi should be at RB. Chelsea is big enough to have a specialist LB. There's no need to put players where they don't normally play.
foreign_viewer
true Mourinho rues his career, it should be slow Terry who should go from here, not Ashley, i'm gonna miss all those goal-line clearance
chelsea44
I wish Ashley Cole best of luck in search of greener pasture.

This players in makeshift postions, underdog mentaly but spend like billionaires doesn't sit well with me.
