'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Makalele Lands First Managerial Role

Whilst at Stamford Bridge, Claude Makalele became something of a hero.

The manner in which he went about his play, winning the ball, keeping things simple and making passes of never more than ten yards, made him an enigma.

Such was his influence in front of the back-four that a whole new position was named after him. Only occasionally did Makalele do something out of the ordinary, namely that wonder-strike at White Hart Lane when Chelsea (swallow hard) lost 2-1 to Spurs, but whenever he wasn`t in the starting eleven you knew something was missing.

Therefore, it`ll be interesting to see how Makalele gets on after leaving the comfort of being Laurent Blanc`s assistant at Paris St Germain to take over the managers` role at Ligue 1, Bastia.

Here at Vital Chelsea we wish 41 year-old Claude all the best.

All the best to Maka. What a player. The 'Makalele position' is so frequently used now in football these days. He was instrumental in our rise to the top. Cheers! #cfc #Legend #cfcfamily

If he "builds the team in his own image", they won't concede many, mind you they'd not be likely to score a lot either. But to be serious, I believe Claude is very intelligent & given a bit of luck, will make as fine manager. Might even be back at The Bridge someday.

What does coaching bastia has to do with porn movie??? That's beyond me. All the best to maka. I really hope he can transfer his brilliant football knowledge and understanding into management.
