Manchester City in for Lampard

Yesterday the news broke that Frank Lampard, according to numerous news sources, had decided that his future lay with New York City in the MLS.

This morning that inference is still prominent, however it appears there could be a twist in the tale.

The MLS season doesn`t commence until March 2015 and it is being reported that Manchester City are trying to obtain the services of the England vice-captain on a short term deal.

Lampard will be 36 years of age by the time the new season comes around but City, obviously, feel that he still has something to offer, plus they`re also aware he`ll come as a free transfer and will also boost their quota of home-grown players as they consider a Champions League campaign.

However, previously, Lampard has indicated that if he were to leave Stamford Bridge he`d never pull on the shirt of another Premier League club.

Could City`s resolve seriously challenge those words?

Yep, Lampard will keep Fernandinho, Yaya, Garcia on the bench. Nonsense rumour.

The best signing since Mata and Hazard if it happens. Fabregas is the missing piece.

Does this mean that Pogba is off or is Ramires + 30 mil going in Juve's way. ;)

Even though the sources aren't so reliable; I'd guess the PlayStation plan is to have midfield options of Matic, Fabregas, Pogba, MVG & Tiago.

But I'd take Koke over Fabregas simply for age and I actually doubt Fabregas would stomp on Le Arse's hearts.

Nit-picking over age now? 27 is young for technically gifted CMs.

Too much speculations, I will just wait until it is officially announced but some of the sources linking us to Cesc are rarely wrong, he may eventually decide not to join us due to his love for Arsenal but I think Jose is really interested in him.

Thanks sameX for the transfer updatee. But Yeah too much rumours. I hope we get what we need. Koke is really good but fabregas is proven in the PL. No doubt about cesc quality. But too much bad blood between cfc and him. Not sure he can give 100% if he join us.

Interesting, Jose may want to revert back to his preferred 4-3-3 setup but we don't need to buy both as Oscar and even Willian can play as advanced CMs in the 4-3-3 setup.

Better than Ramires and who?..John Obi...don't be ridiculous . Glad ROMAN took a stand and stopped this contract renewal nonsense. He is now free to explore other areas of life and achieve success in other countries. He certainly has the IQ for it. The # 8 jersey will now have a new owner...and I bet is will be Cesc as he seems to have joined us. I always liked his linking up with Nasri while @ Arsenal. Hope he can do well at Chelsea.
had2bg
Who yo gonna hate on now #dude with the 2bg moniker?
McQuinnChels
No hate McQuinn...I stood up for what was right...No player is bigger than the club...You can't have a player around for that long when his usefulness had been far spent. Limiting the chances of the younger players and clearly holding back the team. Bias heavily in his favour because he has history with the club and the manager. It had to end..Roman ended it. If Chelsea can get rid of Mata who has done sooo much for the club in the short term...then the "legend" should have been moved on long ago. I will now CONSIDER forgiving Jose for his approach last season..exciting times ahead for sure.
had2bg
COLE MATA DAVID NOW FRANK, haha thank you MOU. All our plastic supporters sing your name for I don't know why. You haven't won us anything except few domestic titles, deserted us in the middle of CL. Di Matteo helped us achieve the impossible when we had stopped dreaming, most importantly at a time when there were no hope for us. Your ego is killing this team and look at Ancelotti, he struck gold in his first year what you couldn't do in three years. Ever imagined why, because you always thought that no one is bigger than you over there, thats the real reason Ronaldo another egoistic son of a gun cried out to be unhappy during your time over there. All you think about is how special you are but hey any coach in the world can deliver when he is given the best players in the world. You are very talented, don't get me wrong Mou but not special. I'll celebrate hard the day you leave us

Thanks Lampard for all the great seasons...Wonderful player @ his best years...Maybe not that much in last 2 years, but still played crucial role in some matches....wish him all the best wherever he goes...#LEGEND....

Hope we dont retire his #8 jersey, but give it to some academy graduate like Chalobah / Baker who have huge potential to turn into a club legend....as a token of inspiration to youngsters

Koke vs Fabregas...I still prefer Kroos / Rakitic...If only between Koke & Fabregas, I go with Koke....It will be difficult to see a barca player in chelsea shirt...

Under Mourinho Chelsea achieved the most successful Premier League season ever - by any club - then backed it up by retaining the title - the only club other than Man Utd to do that. He has come back to Chelsea and very nearly won the title again and achieved our best Premier League performance for 5 years. In between times he has won 2 Champions League titles and been in 8 semi-finals. It is certainly difficult to see why Chelsea supporters love him. Anyone who says Mourinho is not a special manager does not know what they are talking about.

Cole and Lamps probably had to go due to their limited contribution and age. We'll always celebrate these legends though. I am sure if it all depended on Jose these guys could have been given contracts. As for David Luiz, the deal was too good financially, a once in a life the opportunity to mint big-enough cash. Mata? I don't know why he went but just may be he had to go-ask Jose. Anyway, i don't see any problem in these guys leaving except if we don't adequately replace them like during Carlo's second season. I trust the man at the helm. He's not a looser and won't accept defeat which is why he'll do everything to get things right before season begins. Expect many arrivals including loan-sters coming back-Thibaut, Lukaku (i don't believe in the media crap that he'll be sold), Costa, Tiago and many others. Just keep calm and watch. We are in safe hands.
