What Can Fabregas Bring to Chelsea?

The Fabregas chit-chat keep flying high everywhere and almost all (if not all) our fans are itching to see him put his signature down at the Bridge.

There is no doubt and I don't doubt Fabregas' talents but what will he offer us that we don't have.

I tend to wonder how we sell Mata and now we are jubilant at grabbing Fabregas.

What is the difference between Mata and Fabregas?

Fabregas is not a kind of player Mourinho will look to remodel (he has even passed the stage where he can be reshaped) and we are chasing him.

So what is so special about him that we are ( of course I am included) itching to get him?

Fabregas is an upgrade on Mata. And he can put in a tackle.
zg2000fs
he can pass d ball, play set piece and score goals like mata bt he is better dan mata at penalty kicks,he has more aerial strength, more shot, can mark better,he has more work rate and more versatile dan mata as he can play d pivot, play as a 10,as a false nine if d need arises and as emergency winger. He is da bomb.
smog
spot on @smog. he is an upgrade 2 mata in dat sense.
Oladsomething
moreova, he is one of d most creative players on d planet now. He wil be involved in many goals dis season
smog
@oladosomething a very big one at dat
smog
Why do people keep comparing Cesc to Mata? They are 2 different players. @smog has said it all. Cesc presses better, marks better, is more versatile and knows the EPL really well.
SameX
He can give us control of the football and tempo in midfield.

I strongly believe Fabregas is every club choice, he is far better than mata both in history and current form... Fabregas failed to impress Barcelona fans due to the club rotational technic as a result of too many options both in the mid-field and flanks... U could recollect when fabregas was playing in Arsenal wit a regular appearances, he was outstandingly performing but going to Barcelona, he has to Cue for dere are many outstanding players believing to be pillars of Barcelona success... The likes of iniesta, xavi, bosquets, pedro and so on... ... It is too early to believe the utility player of nho use in chelsea... Let's wait and C as the big Boss Mourinho knows what he want... I wish Costa complete his deal and the likes Toni Kross will also add value to the Club.... Mike. Ramirez and Ba could Leave...

Jose says he is excited to get him. So he has something in mind. We'll see how it plays out. Cesc has PL experience, is more versatile compared to Mata.

The guy has alot more to offer than Mata. The fact that he can play as a number 10 as well as central midfield means he's far better. I expect us to crack tight defenses as well as control games better with him at the centre of our midfield.
BOTUM
I'm expecting Jose to get another central midfielder..... I like Romeu a lot but if Jose does not rate him then sell him and Marin and Moses..... and only bring in Kroos
The Persian
It will be a joke for anyone to expect that fabregas won't be compare to mata. And i am also of the believe that fab is a more rounded player than mata hence will offer more
kolagold25
The persian, romeu seems to caught an injury bug. It's better we do away with him now. Mikel should remain as in certain game where stability will be needed he would still be the best choice of our midfielders (I would sacrifice him for kroos though if he wishes to come)
kolagold25
As for the author's question, What can fabregas bring to Chelsea? He would bring what pirlo gives to italy and juventus without neglecting the creativity mata left behind
kolagold25
yea but Romeu is a better ball player and believe me, if he wasn't Spanish, he could have been an international player by now..... he's so underrated.... many things will depend on whether MVG could be what he was for Vitesse Arnhem again......... from what I have heard his injury was the same injury that sidelined Essien so many times...... If MVG could be what we have expected from him to be, then great... we won't be needing Romeu or Mikel, knowing that Chalobah can break in to the first team sooner or later......
The Persian
Chalobah still has a long way to go and time is fast running out. By his age Mikel was already competing and getting game time against Ballack, Essien and Makelele. By that same age Oscar was getting significant game time with us. With MVG behind Fabregas/Matic and Mikel. I also see that he is competing directly against Ake for that role

Jose is still going to have difficulties in converting Fabrigas into a "defensive attacker". I wonder if at the end of the day he'd still put Fabrigas into the market...
traykidd
Ha! Put it like that traykidd and why did we sell Mata?!? Is Fabregas that much better defensively?
BlueABS
Has anyone bothered to listen/read what Jose and our players have said about how they see Fabregas fit into the team? Its not just about defense and offense....there are other grey areas like complementing Matic, complementing Oscar, Eden, Ramires, Willian and the strikers. Its about recycling the ball, dictating play from the middle. Marshalling how we play. We were good on the break but woeful at recycling the ball. In other words once teams gave us the ball and opted to defend....we struggled. In order to break those teams down, we need a bit more tact. That is when its not just about skill but more. Once again as Chelsea supporters please read what our coach and players have been saying about this move.

Fabregas is better than mata both attacking and defensively.
