Chelsea set for £18m Lavezzi bid

Chelsea set for £18m Lavezzi bid

Irrespective of the interruption to football's silly season the FIFA World Cup™ in Brazil represents to insecure players and their agents, the transfer marketplace continue to throw up more interesting moves and rumoured moves.

One of such freshly churned out the mill is the inference that Chelsea are set to sign Ezequiel Lavezzi from French champions, Paris St-Germain.

Of course, this isn't the first time the 29-year-old Argentine who only just moved to the French capital club from Italian side Napoli in the summer of 2012 would be linked with us, as we had heard such talk after he opened the scoring in our 3-1 loss to PSG in the Champions League last term, what's different now is that the French media is awash with reports that "the Blues have opened formal talks with PSG"

I'm not sure what happened to the mooted Firmino deal which in my opinion represents better value for money and fits our youth recruitment policy to the Tee, neither do I have the faintest idea how Lavezzi solves our well documented striking problems in light of the rumoured bid we are also reportedly preparing for Barcelona's Alexis Sanchez, but one thing is certain — Jose Mourinho and crew are behind the scenes building a team to wrest the Barclays Premier League from Man City.

And I couldn't be happier.

How about you?
Do you think we need Lavezzi?

The only thing I don't fancy about Lavezzi is his age.

We don't need Lavezzi. Schurrle is good enough, and has age and lots of potential on his side.

great player and attacks very well. passing is great an everything you want in a winger. age is a problem but if he is cheap then get him and offload torres and ba, maybe some of the loan players and will have space for him and a loanee to return into the first team
21/06/2014 16:35:00
It's not necessary for now and for the future.
21/06/2014 16:56:00
Agree with BOTUM...good player but not for me!
21/06/2014 17:42:00
His acquisition is completely contrary to our recent transfer policy as such doubt CFC is interested in signing him, good player though but so bad as par economic sense. By the way who is he coming to replace inthe first place Hazard, Schurrle, Willian, Salah or who? I doubt any of those mentioned would be moved on for soon to be 30yr old winger.

Pls can anyone help me with a site where i can stream this world cup matches....please

Sanchez might be the smarter purchase long term.
22/06/2014 10:02:00
Don't need him, instead recall Christian Atsu from his loan, the lad really is a top prospect & if his showing in the world cup is the yardstick, he can go all the way. However Sanchez is different, him I'd certainly like.
22/06/2014 10:32:00
I just can't imagine jose building a young squad with signing lavezzi a soon to be 30 year old...
22/06/2014 11:26:00
Hazard its always
22/06/2014 12:07:00
i really dont mind either sanchez or lavezzi coming over. the two are very good players. the fact we have many players mean we need some mature ones that are tough and very good to lead the way atimes. Getting lavezzi will mean he can do some excellent job for two seasons then be sold off to give way to our youth players. By then the hazard, oscar and co would have been fully groomed.
22/06/2014 14:03:00
He is fast and and has eye for goal....he can play for at least 3 good seasons for he won't be a bad signing at all
22/06/2014 16:03:00
Hazard's turned up even if Lukaku hasn't. 1-0
22/06/2014 18:45:00
if the worldcup for lukaku goes the same way its better to get costa , bony , mandzukic or sanchez ... this guy is old
23/06/2014 06:28:00
Not the solution we should look at....Better pay another £5-6m and get Sanchez...I heard Barca are ready to part for £22-25m...
