That Centre Back Speculation Continues!

That Centre Back Speculation Continues!

Speculation linking us with centre-backs continues to generate column inches in the tabloid media.

Now quit whether we`re actually in need of a centre back remains a debatable subject.

However, it would seem that it is the same name that continues to be in the frame, that of the FC Porto defender Eliaquim Mangala.

Today, if the tabloid media is correct, Chelsea`s chances of landing the player have somewhat improved after a declaration from the Catalan giants, Barcelona, they are no longer interested in signing the 23 year-old centre-back.

Which if the speculation is correct leaves two main contenders for his signature, Chelsea Football Club and some fading giant going by the name of Manchester United Football Club.

What are your thoughts on the acquisition (possible) of Eliaquim Mangala?

FC Porto are not very good business partners at all. They'll want to extort Chelsea big time. Just look for an alternative, Chelsea.

@We may not need to buy a centre back especially if Zouma will return.

Merlin, we are know we don't need this guy and so (prayerful soo) does the board. why do a deal with Porto management; a management notorious for been more mean and unreasonable than Daniel Levy????? If we must do a deal with such sartorial elements, it must be for players that are absolute must -buys.. the messis and ronaldoes.... not some *****ty player like Mangala. Their are dozens of Mangalas in the Ligue 1 if we are looking for Physical Specimens... Ditto.. Mbia was quoted yesterday as wanting to be under Mourinho. i wil rather take him from QPR than Mangala from Porto

tell you the truh I don't mind if he does or doesn't. Chelsea can spend there money how they see fit! they have given me costa and fabregas in one window already to they have basically solve the two HUGE issues I had with the squad so all signings now are a bonus.

He can go wherever he wants, but chelsea dont need him....We have Zouma, Omerou, Ake, Chirstensen, Kalas for future. Right now, Cahill, Terry, Ivanovic can carry us

I thought with the purchase of Zouma this Mangala guy won't be linked to us anymore...... and I guess if any CB should be added to our squad, it should be a youngster from our academy... preferably Ake

Omeruo's stake is rising by the day. World cup is doing his a world of good and if he continues this way, Jose will have a big decision to make i.e. Retain Zouma or Omeruo.
