The Hazards of Barcelona

The Hazards of Barcelona

As reports, okay, beg your pardon; as ridiculous reports in Spain infer that our friends over at Catalan outfit, Barcelona are lining up Eden Hazard as Plan B in case their purported pursuit of one Luis Suarez falls through, amidst counter-reports that Chelsea target and Chilean hitman Alexis Sanchez might be thrown into the mix as makeweight for any potential move, an idea hit yours truly this morning.

According to the reports, Barcelona will offer Liverpool £56 million plus the £25m-rated Alexis Sanchez for Suarez, which I think is a win-win situation for the two clubs; surely Suarez is worth £81m, right?

Now would/should Chelsea, after rebuffing all attempts by PSG to get them to the negotiating table for Hazard, trade the mercurial 23 year-old Belgian - for whom the French champions offered about £70m just a few weeks ago - for the same terms Barcelona are offering the Scousers for their Uruguayan talisman?

Of course, methinks the Scousers won't do the deal as they can't afford to since their existence as a football club arguably depends largely on Luis Suarez; so as Chelsea fans, do you think £56m plus Alexis Sanchez for Eden Hazard represent a good doable deal?

"Of course, methinks the Scousers won't do the deal as they can't afford to since their existence as a football club arguably depends largely on Luis Suarez". Small plastic club Chelsea on their high horse again.. spending billions to buy trophies but failing abysmally as usual while at the same time playing some of the most dour football known to man. known fact hazard is not in suarez league plus barca see hazard as 2 levels below suarez makeweight player. only an idiot supporting a blue plastic club would think that Barcelona would be dumb enough to offer 40Plus - plus sanchez.. more like 35 mill at best nothing more.

A ridiculous question. Hazard will never leave chelsea for barcelona no matter the price so long mourinho is our manager and the money men at madrid and psg aren't dead.

@I Bling Red, you seem to forget that if it were not for the Moores family and Littlewoods Pools, Liverpool would have probably stayed in the 2nd division for the 20 years as opposed to them buying successi. It was all right then, when no other club could afford the players that the scoucers were able to. But that was yesterday, which is well and truly stuck in the past, just like the most bigoted and obnoxious supporters in the country. Chelsea buy and sell players at present within the guidelines to FFP, just because Liverpool can`t compete at the top table anymore, obviously riddles you with jealousy. Keep living in the past.

No way Hazard is leaving this summer....And regarding Suarez, dont believe any rumours...I guess he has a release clause of 70m euros in his contract incase RM or Barca bids...And I dont think RM or Barca are foolish enough to let Henry mess with the release clauses anymore...

Nonsense rumor. Hazard grew up in France, speaks french, was a Lille youth product and his family is based there as well. So for fench based players, living in Paris is a big deal. Hence the overtures to PSG. But that's been nipped in the bud by all parties concerned. Barca thing is a non starter. Hazard isn't interested in my opinion, though I can't be sure. SUarez to Barca rumors picking up steam, you never know, the toothy ****/genius gets the transfer flu this time of year everytime. The desperation of pool boys will be hilarious to watch if this move goes through. :D

@I Bling Red "failing miserably " er you have a certain Steven Gerrard who in less than two months scuppered your chance to win the league and helped knock England out of the WC with those two assists to his team mate .

@Ken4CFC, neither Mata or Luiz were in Jose`s 1st 11, so over 80m for squad players is good business. Personally I would have been much happier if Oscar was sold as opposed to Mata, but obviously the manager knows what he wants. Selling Luiz for 50m is the best bit of transfer business CFC has done in our 109 year history.
