It Was Down to Lampard and Drogba!

It Was Down to Lampard and Drogba!

Over in Brazil, the former Chelsea defender-cum-midfielder David Luiz, has been elevated to hero status following his marvellous free-kick that saw Brazil glide through into the semi-finals.

The free kick, taken from some thirty yards out, left the goalkeeper with no chance as it swerved, dipped and then sped into the top corner.

Naturally, the excellent effort resulted in numerous Vital Chelsea contributors bemoaning the fact that we`d sold the Brazilian to Paris St Germain, but that`s something that is done and dusted and cannot be changed.

But it is interesting to read that the likeable Brazilian, who was a hero of that wonderful night in the Allianz Arena, has spoken about where he learned to take a free-kick like that with the player, affectionately known as 'Sideshow Bob` remarking,

'I learned this shooting technique thanks to Frank Lampard and Didier Drogba at Chelsea.

Ah yes, two more heroes of that wonderful Munich night!

It was a beauty. Cheers to the geezer. All the best to him against Germany.

More Drogba than anyone else...as he has stated before. So happy he has not made his transfer change his feelings about Chelsea. Wish him all the best.

Luiz: Thanks for your contributions while you were with us. Thanks for the 50 million as well. Best of Luck at PSG.

Not surprising at all. Anyone who watched the Drogs taking free kicks for us would see the similarities in technique. It is interesting Luiz is such a likeable person..whatever issue some of the chelsea fan base may have had with him as a CB or DM i cannot find anyone who does not appreciate that he is a genuinely decent human being. Other than when and if PSG face chelsea i cannot root against him. He is one of the reasons i continue to wish Brazil well at the World cup.

It reminded me of a Drogba goal against Arsenal during the 2009-10 season. Ah, the memories!

When i made mentioned that we can develop our new set of deadball/set pieces specialist among the array of stars at our disposal on another thread last week, a member known for his attacks & name calling suddenly attacked my comment with insults. I wanted to reply but thought was childish & opted for chance like this to reply the critic. Thank you DL for the wonderful times at SW6 hoping Jose 'll train Hazard, Oscar, Costa, Schurrle, willian & Fabregas in the art of taking freekicks or be effective in set pieces. Ab initio i know such skill set was developed by FL & Drogs through hardwork, discipline, commitment & dedication amongst others. Once there is that commitment, training & re-training the art, it will always come to be in our games & then use same against teams that 'll come to SW6 to play for a draw.

If you don't give respect why not 've self respect yourself calling a 56yr old man childish, i mean what do you stand to gain by constantly attacking people calling them names, insulting tbem etc. On another thread i made mention that this a/c was actually opened for me by my third son, a 21yr old who encouraged me to participate in posting comments, making contributions etc rather than reading articles & comments that follow. Honestly i'll like to know how i can find peace with you so that u even skip my posts at least my age/health cannot bear the drills you are having with others. Please give me a break will you?

Continue with your name calling as i can't engage on personal attacks with you or anybody. Call me whatever you wish as one day you will meet your match as you know i'm not one son. Nobody hides by making contributions such as this & dont care what you mean by that, i don't give a hoot on what growth you feel i should have as i know myself & responsibilities having trained five children the last of which is 17yrs old. Clearly inside you is hurt on to another, & if that continue to give you joy than 've a responsible/tolerant interraction with others on this forum, just ride on as one day you cannot just like before you sign up with vital network. Smh!
