It's Done Now - Lukaku wants out of Chelsea!

Controversial Belgium striker, Romelu Lukaku, 21, desperately wants a permanent move away from Chelsea before his Stamford Bridge career even got underway, but will turn down a purported £20m move to Tottenham because he wants Champions League football, so the papers are saying.

One of such papers, The Express, are running with inferences and quotes attributed to the youngster, who following his *£17million move from Anderlecht in 2011 had spent the last two seasons on loan at West Brom and Everton, that suggest the spotlight-loving kid whose contract runs out in 2016 feels he can't be totally free to get on with his career with yet another loan move which is something Chelsea were reportedly considering.(*initial upfront payment of £12m plus performance related add-ons)

"What I don't want is to be loaned out," he said after crashing out of the World Cup with Belgium.

"I am 21 and I have been loaned for the last two seasons. Thibaut Courtois was loaned for three seasons and will be without doubt the first-choice Chelsea goalkeeper.

"And Kevin De Bruyne has been transferred permanently
to Wolfsburg. They are free in their heads - it is not my case. That [a permanent move] would free me totally."

Although the player who previously claimed to be a Chelsea fan and always dreamed of playing in our royal blue shirt hasn't expressly stated he wouldn't play second fiddle to any of the older and more experienced strikers on our books, it is apparent from his latest media soundbites and previous ones that his mind is already set on 'greener pastures' and nothing would assuage his feelings.

Don't you think so?

So, is this the last straw that broke or will break the proverbial camel's back?
Is it good riddance or perhaps you are of the opinion this is one sorry debacle with Daniel Sturridge written all over it?

Invariably, and despite what his critics say, it is obvious the lad isn't all brawn and no brains by rejecting that tiny club on the backstreet of N17 well in advance, don't you think?

We should cash in on him ASAP...... He has a mouth bigger than his footballing brain........
DonDhammih
To be honest, I am tired of hearing him speak. Granted that he is still a kid, but Chelsea is not Everton, you have to grow into the role of a sole striker. If he wants to leave, he can leave and please let Chelsea sell him outright!
Cyril Ibeka
Dis guy talks too much. Does he expect to walk straight into chelsea line up? Dose he think chelsea is everton? Or west brom? He does nt want to fight for his place in d squad. I wont be be sad to see him sold bt chelsea must hold on for a good profit nd buy anoda striker. God forbid if anyfin happen to costa. I dnt want to suffer d pain of seeing torres as our main striker again
Demmyblues
just let him go. he talks too much. Chelsea will be OK without him no doubt
BOTUM
Sell him ASAP!!!! Some cash and we could get a player with some IQ! He talks way too much....he hasnt done anything...get out of our club lukaku!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
austriablue
is that a confirmation of jose's statement that courtois will play for us next season? thanks kraken
BOTUM
Lets wait for official position on this Lukaku matter hoping it 'll come as soon as possible as lingering over it has become so boring. If the club feel he is not in our plans, let them pay CFC valuation or anything close to that. And if no club wants to match that then of course he is not in hot demand & therefore sign an extension & proceed on loan or play as 2nd or 3rd striker, contrary to that El-Malouda bekons till summer of 2017 during which he shall walk away free.
Jerry Blues
Cyril Ibeka: He is 21 years old. He is not a KID. He is a Fully Grown Man. Legally he can adopt a Baby, Purchase a Gun and Purchase Liquor.

Lets see what Lukaku Supporters have to say now

(Kenneth Omeruo shoots down transfer rumours) This season has been my Season as a player. And I thank my parent club Chelsea for sending me to middlesbrough... It was a great experience and one I will always cherish.. And thank you Boro for the love u showed to us during our Loan... And for my Fans out there, am not going no where... Fully staying at the Bridge.. Have a nice Day God Bless.

@Stamford - LOL! Are there any left?
BlueABS
The club must always have upper hand in deciding what happens to future of players, as such CFC bcannot spend such a huge ammount for a teenager & accept loss by allowing him to walk away, to where? He must be dealt with departmentally & make him realise whatever must be on the club's terms. We still regret letting Sturridge walk away for nearly peanuts i must say, & subject be warned of the severe consequences. I rest my case until official position is announced pls!
Jerry Blues
Whoever said players have to be easy people to manage... ? They are bought for their skills etc on the pitch - they arent bought for their good looks (though it helps in their value) but mainly their skills .. Lukaku has plenty of skill... lets give the lad a chance.. Look at Balotelli and others .
Blue_Mel
I think we will regret it if we sell him.. Sturridge Mk 2 definitely
Blue_Mel
I hope Chelsea play hardball with this, in Lukaku's words, he is an experienced goal scorer. He has played in a WC as an international. He wants CL footie. Well let's see what his valuation is and whether any of the top european (CL) clubs are interested. If AM come sniffing for a bargain, tell them where to go, unless they drop the price significantly on Luis. Even then, for AM CFC should state that his 'release clause' is £30m. LOL!

Skill and Lukaku are not two words I would put in the same sentence!!!

That Kenneth Omeruo kid beats my imagination. With Terry, Cahill, Ivanovic and most likely Zouma in the squad, he still believed he will prove himself and get his chances. Yet with really Costa ahead of Lukaku, he is yapping nonsense...

Lukaku comments in the press again?!?!? lol!! It's non stop. I really would love the club/jose to take an official stand on the matter, but doesn't look like it's going to happen. #soapaopera
syed230183_chelseafc
Lukaku talks too much why even when no one is replying him. must he run to the press to talk to CFC when he can as well sit down with CFC board and discuss his future. That was how he said he will use the world cup to showcase himself and get a club for himself, must he talk.
Didiugwu Kelsey
blue_mel we might regret it in the sense of him growing into his full potential as a world class striker but what can we possibly do at this point? As I stated before in other articles, according to him we weren't allowed to even buy 1 new striker. How can we just depend on Lukaku, Torres, Ba in all the comps we are going to be in including CL? What is his deal with us getting Eto last season and us getting Costa this season? Just because we got Costa does not mean the club does not want to support him and work with him. I honestly don't get it.
BlueMIA
Sturridge was done wrong by our club in my opinion. But are you willing to tell me Lukaku wouldn't be up there fighting for the spot with Costa? I will even go a step further and say that he would have fought with Eto for the spot last season, in which he forced the loan move. Sturridge had to go against the pre Mourinho bias for Torres, that is no longer the case anymore.
BlueMIA
The best way to treat a foolish kid seeking attention is always to ignore him. Answering Lukaku on the pages of dailymail by either Mourinho or the Board would demean their value and bring them to Lukaku's level. Like i have already said. The "FOOLISH ONE" has talked his career out of the bridge. We should just sell him to any club barring AM. for them, nothing short of the buy out clause would suffice. Greedy old men.
Dwonder
The funny thing about lukaku is that he says "he wants to play for an ambitious team, a big team that plays in the champions league and wins trophies". Does an ambitious team or "big teams" in the champions league have a 21 year old as their first choice striker? The guy really needs to shut his mouth!!!
don delsy
^Not only that but which of those teams depends on only 1 striker???
BlueMIA
Lukaku's Level is Everton and WBA. All Top Teams in Europe tend to buy new players for a position every year or at least 2 years.
StamfordDLion
Chelsea suld nt let hm go on permanent basis o...
Goodnews Tobiloba
will end up with another chelsea regret. this guy will be one of the best strikers in the world in the next 2-3 years. i dont get why naive people question his attitude. all he is saying is that he wants to play football, if anything that is the right attitude. and then some people compare him to tevez and balotelli, well lukaku always had the right attitude on the field and isn't known for the wild lifestyle. I dont think some people know what bad attitude is. people say he talks much but has it not occurred to you that he's answering the media's questions rather than making personal statements...you're all buying into the media you suckers. the fact is there aren't many world class strikers out there. the centre forward is a dying breed and we should do everything to keep hold of lukaku or else its going to end up like another sturridge situation but worse!!
Ess...DaBison
OK so what do you propose? What does Lukaku want/need from Chelsea? Sell Costa? Make Lukaku the setting bar when buying any new striker? That Lukaku will be our main man with only Torres and Ba being the other ones? And if we get a new striker he absolutely cannot be better than Lukaku? What do you guys propose, we are all ears here?
BlueMIA
Ess…DaBison: What about his reaction towards the Belgium Manager when he was Substituted? Should be Overlook and Condone such Transgressions?
StamfordDLion
So Lukaku must be a sycophant so that Chelsea can selfishly hoard talent while hindering his career with ambiguous promises of game time. LOL, let him leave don't want ineffecient use of resources.
ACLamp
Ess…BaBison: (the fact is there aren't many world class strikers out there.) Lukaku is NOT World Class. He has Potential BUT he is not World Class right now. Is he Willing to be Patient and Wait for His Turn?
StamfordDLion
that wasnt an attitude problem... if anything that was passion for the game, he was disappointed in his own performance. if he really had a problem he would have went to the media, as people like you claim he keeps going to find, and vent his frustration. He never did and his attitude in the next game against the US, where he was dropped and came on in extra time, couldn't have been better!
Ess...DaBison
BLueMIA: I am also listening. Chuckles.
StamfordDLion
Where did Lukaku ever say that he wants to be 1st choice? I just understand that he didn't want to be like Demba Ba last season knowing that Torres & Eto'o and even BA had higher job security. It would be retarded to play spineless yes man when you have a high chance of being 3rd/4th choice striker at a crucial part of development in his career. He just shot himself in the foot with his attitude in asserting himself.
ACLamp
Ess…DaBison: Wonder what JOSE will Treat if Lukaku were to push his hand like the way Lukaku pushed the Belgium Manager's hand.
StamfordDLion
I really give thumbs up to the club for not even trying to address the stupid lad yet. You get the feeling they are really frustrating the *****e out of this guy Lol. But then when its time to talk, i will like them to tell the youngman's parent to advice and talk to their son because CFC can afford to neglect the 18mil they invested in him and condemn him to the reserves for the remaining 2years of his contract.
kolagold25
What HOW JOSE will Treat ...
StamfordDLion
Pushing Your Manager's Hand and Refusing to Shake his Hands is a WAY of SHOWING PASSION! You may think that it is ACCEPTABLE BEHAVIOUR But for me, that Act of His was Petulant and Totally DISRESPECTFUL.

he is world class. he's scoring 20+ goals a season at his age and not against any teams, but the likes of arsenal, Lpool, City and a united. which other striker at his age is doing that?
Ess...DaBison
ACLamp the first thing he did was have a negative reaction when news came out in us looking at Costa. Remember?
BlueMIA
Ess once again what do you propose? The boy is not happy we bought Costa or when we brought in Eto. Honest conversation here, what do you want? Do you really want to set Lukaku as the main bar for strikers at Chelsea at this moment. Please don't ignore.

Ess…DaBison: Please go and check your Stats. He is NOT a 20 Goals per Season Striker. Last season he scored 16 GOALS and the season before that he scored 17.
StamfordDLion
to the same willmot him, mertens and kompany were praising before the world cup?! you start reading into something that isnt there to justify your opinion. like i said he was more frustrated with himself if anything, and his attitude in the follow up game even though he came on in extra time couldnt have been better

WILFRIED BONY in his first Season in the Premier League scored 25 GOALS LAST SEASON Playing for Swansea.
StamfordDLion
Where did Lukaku say that he wants to be the sole striker at CFC, that Chelsea shouldn't buy more players etc etc. He has every right to say that I want to play and be permanent at a place, what's wrong in this. There is lot of blind hate here for the lad. He can't be worse than Torres. Give the guy at least a season to prove himself. It is not necessary to play him as #1 striker but he gives us new dimension. I don't have much faith in Costas BTW. Anyway, let the hate fest continue....
Taimur
DIEGO COSTA Scored 36 GOALS Last Season. He Helped Atletico become La Liga Winners and CL Runners Up. The season before that, he scored 20 Goals.

Lukaku is NOT a 20 GOALS Striker. Where do you get your Stats Ess.Bison?
StamfordDLion
(Romelu Lukaku has admitted he may have to leave Chelsea this summer amid speculation the club are closing in on Diego Costa.) "You know Chelsea: every year they buy a new top striker," he said. "I have to play a good World Cup. That's very interesting for all the players looking for a transfer, and I must be one of them. Chelsea know my point of view." Romelu Lukaku "I remember me coming into the dressing room last year and seeing Samuel Eto'o and Demba Ba and going: 'Whoah! What's happening here?' "But no problem. Many clubs are interested in me and at this stage I have to look to myself. "I have to play a good World Cup. I think he was upset because Costa was coming while Ba & Torres are still there. He may still think they will stay since he hasn't spoken with the club. Poor comment without obtaining all the facts. Where was Bony when he was 21? He is almost at peak level, unlikely to grow unlike Lukaku.

Am in total support of Lukaku. Chelsea destroys young talents and its a fact. Everyone knows we hav the best young players in England, going by the fact that they dominate youth football, but none of them is ever good enof for the 1st team. Sturridge, Matic, De Bruyne would have had their careers destroyed if they stayed on at chelsea. They all left and became beta players, to d extend that chelsea spent a huge sum of money to re-sign Matic after seeing that he has developed and matured at Benfica. With things going this way and our club not able to nurture up young talents to world class stars, many of our youth will surely leave in future......I wonder why a big club as chelsea cannot develop young talents, instead prefers buying expensive big name stars to fill positions that are even vacant in our team.
Izibeserime Azabia

So what is your take one what he said there Ess? What is he saying?
BlueMIA
SDL lol Kakuta anyone?
BlueMIA
This he should work hard ploy is to keep him on the treadmill like Baby Boomers selfishly keeping jobs away from fresh blood. Tell me what objective criterion should Lukaku have achieved at his age with his resources? 30 goals? His chance would not be easy at our risk averse side (understandable with our demand for success). He has already achieved the best goals/min ratio of any 21 year old in PL history, but yet he must stay on this treadmill with chances coming on a circumstantial whim rather than achieving objective criteria. If he follows your advice, it would be as useless as following friend zone inducing dating advice.
ACLamp
"yet he must stay on this treadmill with chances coming on a circumstantial whim rather than achieving objective criteria. If he follows your advice, it would be as useless as following friend zone inducing dating advice." Did Torres have problems getting game time when we bought Eto? IF Lukaku is ok to share time with Costa then why is he so mouthy? And why was he so mouthy last season? He was given game time before his loan, and forced the loan move himself after 4 games I think?...
BlueMIA
Clearly you do not understand risk taking. You can't be so risk averse that you afraid that every youngster will turn into Kakuta. Some payoff being Messi and some flop. That is the nature of the beast. Any business owner will tell you that.
ACLamp
Torres has tremendous job security. He has been ***** for3 years and he still gets the lion's share of game time. Ask Sturridge.
ACLamp
So AC I take it your stance is that Lukaku is worried about being 3rd/4th/5th choice and not being up there able to compete with Costa for number 1? If that was the case I would be on his side. But how do you come to that conclusion? Remember last season?
BlueMIA
What is wrong with giving this lad a full season to show what he can do? Sell torres and Ba and bring on lukaku and Costa with A false 9 from our rank. What is the point of having a youth team if you can't make sacrifices. Give this guy a playing chance, if he does not perform, sell him. End of story!
Killerpass
AC I agree but you also have to agree Sturridge's case is not the same as Lukaku's. After Jose arrived no way is Torres this untouchable, we must make it work, player anymore.
BlueMIA
^Because he is not happy we bought Costa...
BlueMIA
what is my take on what?! Pato never got to be the player expected due to injuries. Lukaku has demonstrated it against the big teams. bony in the prem last seaon: 34 appearances 16 goals Lukaku in the prem last season: 31 appearances 15 goals. In total lukaku 16 goals from 33, bony 25 goals from 48 appearance. bony just pips lukaku by scoring 0.05 goals per game more than lukaku, hardly any difference. and if you really want to get into technicalities lukaku had more sub appearances than bony... take those stats and twist tailor them!!
Ess...DaBison
"I remember me coming into the dressing room last year and seeing Samuel Eto'o and Demba Ba and going: 'Whoah! " Let's not forget Torres too
ACLamp
And...?
BlueMIA
ACLamp: (Clearly you do not understand risk taking.) Yes We Understand. That is why we are Advocating that Chelsea should sell Lukaku who is a POTENTIAL World Class Player/Disruptive Player. Let him become a World Class Player/Disruptive Player in another team. Chelsea should take the RISK.

4 strikers on almost the same level/reputation is a very unpredictable environment.
ACLamp
1. Hull, played 15mins 2. Aston Villa, played 26mins 3. Man United, didn’t play 4. Bayern, played 22mins. That is Lukaku's schedule our first 4 games into the season before forcing a loan move. Not to mention Jose was having a head ache later on in this season with all 3 strikers under performing that he started Schurrle AGAIN. Don't you think if Lukaku was doing good that would have been his break out season?
BlueMIA
Who cares if we had 50 strikers? If he can play then he can play. If what You say is true Schurrle would have never started as a ST out of desperation.

It's about odds. How would Lukaku know that our 3 strikers would have underperformed. About the 50 strikers hyperbole, if hypothetically speaking all the strikers were on a similar level, the odds of playing would be 1 in 50. Not a very smart choice to stay.
ACLamp
Jose words don't always match his actions.
ACLamp
"How would Lukaku know that our 3 strikers would have underperformed"... Aw so he wanted the number or 2 spot without question? Doesn't matter how good or bad he plays? He could have been the worst of the bunch and still demand at least number 2? Is that how it works now?
BlueMIA
AC ok Jose's words don't always match his actions. I posted you only 4 games into the season before Lukaku himself forced the loan move. That is all we have to go by. So how are you so sure he would not have made it last season? Just pure speculation right? Unless you yourself think he would not have been good enough. He can't just force a loan move and then act like it is fact he wasn't given a chance.

Ess…DaBison: One should remember that Last Season was BONY's First Season at Swansea and in the Premiership. Its Remarkable how SWIFTLY he ADJUSTED, How Many Goals he Scored and How Well He Took Care of Himself (Injury Wise)

And even if this report is true then shouldn't be any cause for alarm since the usual argument was that Lukaku doesn't want to play for Chelsea. Now he's saying he doesn't want to go on loan and would prefer to play at Chelsea but we still choose to fabricate and interprete the story negatively. Would you have preferred him to say "I want to go on loan again... please send me on loan". It's funny how we just love to blow things out of proportion...
Latunvic
SDL he doesn't even get the point that you don't so much care about who is solely better but that you are trying to show them that they are turning a blind eye when it comes to Lukaku.

StamfordDLion
who is to say lukaku wouldn't have scored more goals in those extra games? and if youre going to compare their first season's again there is nothing in it in terms of goals per game...and the WBA team was worse than the swansea team this season so you can say lukaku carried WBA. all this at the age of 19/20.. bony with 5 years more development and experience is managing similar percentages to a player who was 5 years younger in his first season.... says it all!
Ess...DaBison
We have just bought a Striker who scored 36 Goals Last Season for the LA LIGA Winners and CL Runners up. Now some peeps here are calling others HATERS!!! I laugh in Chinese when I read those stupid comments. Why would a CFC fan hate a CFC player? Whatever scrutiny and sticks lukaku gets, its becus he brought it on himself. He shud just shut up. Go to the boardroom and make his stance known. The media cannot force CFC's hands to sell him neither will He go on a free/cheap. Everything is dialogue, He shud sit down with JM and ask him his plans for him (Lukaku) and then he can come up with a well informed position and decide what his next move is. He cannot stay at CFC this season without signing a new contract, wether he's going on loan or not. So get to know the plans of the club for U, (cus I doubt CFC will allow his contract run out just like that), before u run ur mouth. His agent isn't giving him any advice at all.

Boy am I glad that Azpi did not think like Lukaku last season. Or we might have really lost a gem right there. Azpi did the opposite and now is a huge fan favorite... And for the right reasons unlike Lukaku.
BlueMIA
Requesting for a loan was the right decision then and requesting to stay is the right move for now...
Latunvic
When asked about Lukaku's comments, the Portuguese said: 'Maybe there is a new rule in football where when the season finishes every player is able to decide their own future.' Mourinho responded by suggesting that it was Lukaku's choice to go on loan, saying: 'Romelu likes to speak. He's a young boy who likes to speak. But the only thing he didn't say is why he went to Everton on loan.' 'That's the only thing he never says. And my last contact with him was to tell him exactly that. Why do you never say why you are not here? So it's something he should (talk about) because he likes to speak. 'It's something he should say, the reason why he's not with Chelsea and is in Everton.'
StamfordDLion
no one is talking down costa... mancity have 4 top strikers, lpoo have 2, just goes to show you need more than one top striker. lukaku will play with/ compete with costa for his position and he's ok with that. its people who "read BS between the lines" who blow this outta proportion
Ess...DaBison
Foul play here. I don't see anybody saying Costa should take a backseat to Lukaku. Most are against the notion that he should compete against 3 other strikers instead of having the chance to be second choice. Why obstruct the future and waste minutes on old players?
ACLamp
Ess if that is the case then great for him. But I just want to honestly ask you, you did not see any negative anti Chelsea comments from Lukaku for the past 2 years?
BlueMIA
Azpilicueta and Lukaku are not comparable really. Azpilicueta just had to fight Branislav & Cole for two positions whereas Lukaku had to fight 3 others for 1!

Fully staying at the Bridge.. Have a nice Day God Bless.

Lukaku can't seem to talk to Jose in PRIVATE. All you Lukaku Supporters, Don't you think that Lukaku is Alienating himself from Jose with his Antics?
StamfordDLion
@mcquinn, mate all i would say is, if the lad doesn't sign an extension with us either staying or leaving, there isn't no need holding onto him again. Put him in the reserves for the remaining 2years with a 35-40mil tag for whoever wants him (atleast he has as more potential as pogba if not more).
kolagold25
A Player who says that he is a COMPLETE Striker. Who Thinks he is Ready to Play for a CL Team BUT Is apparently afraid of Competing with other Strikers in a Team. Which Top Team only has two Strikers in their Squad?
StamfordDLion
Azpi was a known quantity before Mourinho returned. He survived Mourinho's torture. Other players can't take it.
foreign_viewer
Lukaku is being dumb here. He is clearly seen as the villain here. He should do this in private.
ACLamp
@aclamp, don't even try to downplay what azpi achieved for himself. He had to displace a very consistent player who plays in a position not truly his. We all know the strikers are not consistent hence that should have given lukaku more hope that he will feature.
kolagold25
(what he means by 'talking' is engaging with the media... most footballers don't always engage (mainly because they cant string a sentence together, or couldn't careless about the public) with the media....that's just lukaku being friendly!) Lukaku is a Chelsea Employee. Lukaku is a Paid Professional and Ought to Exhibit Professionalism. He is a 21 Year Old Fully Grown Man. There are millions of Chelsea fans around the world and Chelsea has a Reputation. He is Expected to show a bit of Professionalism and not be a Loose Cannon.
StamfordDLion
"Azpilicueta just had to fight Branislav & Cole....." Lol, who were more established in the chelsea team? Branslav & cole or ba, torres & eto? You make it seem like he (azpi) just did something anyone who "just" works hard can do....I don't hate lukaku but I hate his attitude. Nothing comes easy in life moreso at chelsea; if you want to play, you must keep your mouth SHUT!!!, work your ass off and prove to us (manager, fans) on the field that you deserve the chance.
don delsy
It is not a downplay it is a simple fact. Cole was clearly ***** and Azpilicueta showed his quality. There was no other contestant. Every position can have bad spells not just strikers, so nice try.
ACLamp
Do you have some of Mikel's qoutes about not leaving? Let's celebrate those as well shall we.
foreign_viewer
'...and not a loose cannon' i agree with that @stamford.
kolagold25
lukaku wouldnt be disruptive in the dressing room, the lads want to play and thats why he is talking..i dont think he will have any problem playing as second choice and competing with costa...the issue is still torres....lukaku and costa will score goals especially if we have fabregas playing behind the strikers... but if torres stays,i dont think it will make sense keepin lukaku also....
Hazard11
Cole was not ***** bro. It is comment like this that made woy leave a player who should definitely have gone to Brazil
kolagold25
Cole was getting burnt on the wing when Azpilicueta came on. He wasn't the same Ashley and I doubt Cole being on an average England squad overall not just LB would have saved them.
ACLamp
In all this crap about Lukaku, Chelsea has an upper hand. If he wants to leave, he has to look for a club which will meet Chelsea's valuation. If he can't, he has to play second or third choice striker. If his ego is high, he has to sign an extension and leave for a loan spell. This is an elite club and we don't kneel before any player. End of story.
bekozi88
he is not the only one that wants to play @hazard. What would it look like if all our young prospect takes the route of lukaku
kolagold25
In fact we had been linked to LBs like Coentrao and Shaw since AVB because while Cole still had world class performances from time to time, they were decreasing in frequency since he is 33.
ACLamp
It is up to the club now. We will probably know this in the next few weeks. Aubameyang seems to be a strong rumour.

July 7 Sky News Reports: "I want to go on holiday first and rest with my parents and then we will see," said Lukaku. "I want to be somewhere where I can play my best football and hopefully win titles. "It's up to me to work hard but there are choices to make. "Things like that happen in football and I'm confident I will make the right choice. I'm looking at everything but first of all I want to go on holiday and relax a little bit." Asked if he had spoken to anyone at Chelsea yet about his future, Lukaku added: "No, not yet. "It depends what is the best for me, where the most ambition is and where is the best place for me to do develop as a young player. "I’m still 21 but I think I’m experienced enough. I’ve played a lot of games and scored a lot of goals, now I want to win titles and be one of the best."
StamfordDLion
@Aclamp, and do you think azpi would have ever thought such a consistent player would fumble?? I mean he got a chance in a position he would not have expected. That's the key point. compared to lukaku would had to contend with inconsistent folks. If you are telling me lukaku belted out because of the WC i definitely would understand

LOL @ "Lukaku is a world class talent". I've said it before, I'll say it a million times - Lukaku is Benteke 2.0. In a few years, he'll be playing for some team whose idea of winning is staying the PL. I think the move to Tottenham would be perfect for everyone, because they wouldn't know what to do with him, anyway. They are a perfect match, in my humble opinion.

@mcquin, well would you rather let him walk for free and with the way he shown non committment to the club be rest assured clubs won't raise the bar to sign him if he enters into 1year of his contract. And seriosly i shouldn't be stating 45mil as 60mil should be rather ideal since that's the sum quoted for pogba.
kolagold25
@kolagold25 - I can't predict the future, but I can certainly make educated guesses here, and hedge my bets, there. I damn sure lose nothing, either way, on my Lukaku predictions. There was a time not so long ago that I was railing on Lukaku for running his mouth too much, and the majority pulled the blinders on, and pushed back at me. Wonder what the general consensus is these days? Maybe you ought to just bookmark my words, and revisit them in a couple years. Could be fun. ;)

Would wait for the club to make a decision and i would be sure to remeber your words and troll you accordingly ;) If it goes the other way you are not allowed to troll me anyways *straight face*

Oh man not this guy again........ SELL HIM PLEASE !!.... he wants to turn into a Sturridge ?? Lukaku is not Danny Studge.... and even if he is anything similar to him, he has this big mouth....... 'we will regret selling him' really ??? LOL SELL HIM... we are CHELSEA.... no matter what happens we're not starving from getting huge transfer fees for his sale, nor we starve of quality...... we have reached the semis in UCL and beat the top six teams in PL with ***** strikers... we can do better from now on and WHEN, not if, WHEN we win the CL and PL again, we will see who's the one regretting this transfer ;)

@McQ.... Its all guesses really. If cole didn't lose form, we won't have realised how good azpi could become when pushed to the limit. If iva wasn't reverted back to the RB position by jose, azpi would have had it easy and probably won't be the fan favourite he is today for producing excellent performances on a regular basis........The main thing is lukaku had torres - who has been unconvincing since he came to chelsea, Ba - who had a good start to life here but faded as the season ended, Eto - who went on holiday in the russian league with anzi for 2 years ahead of him and STILL, he was scared to compete with them. Is that the same striker that will compete with costa (36 goals in the previous season)?
don delsy
Well I am glad it wasn't me who brought Mikel up this time. I bet if I respond to the Mikel bait I will be labeled "hater" again. Aw the selectivity on this site.

StamfordDLion - thank god there still are decent youngsters like Kenneth Omeru... and thank god there's no Juan Mata in this team anymore...... I loved Mata but he's now a manure player and I'm so happy that he didn't reach the knock out stages of WC, with all the fuss about playing more so he could be in La Roja...... and also I'm so happy for guys like Mikel who didn't play much for his club last season but still kept his mouth shut and stayed decent and quiet and played for his country and actually reached the knock out phase....... he's not my favourite player but kudos to him for his attitude
The Persian
I actually like this with ignoring him and FV we were able to have a nice chat here. Although one person did decide to just say "hating" and run out of this article with his tail between his legs this was nice overall.

Laughing my fecking ass off at some of the feeble arguments being put up in defence of Lukaku. All in front of the bias judge who only sits over us to admonish the naysayers. LMAO really!!!
BlueABS
It couldn't be more black and white, Lukaku wants a transfer. Hurrahhhhh!
BlueABS
^What surprised me the most is how evident it was that Azpi was for sure going to make the permanent 11, and especially Cole at LB. Jeez, can I get some lotto numbers from ppl who even thought that would be possible after a few months.
BlueMIA
Especially Displace*
BlueMIA
In light of all the comments he has made, particularly in the last month, anyone care to notice that not him, nor his agent have spoken with anyone at Chelsea!!! Isn't that somewhat strange???? Yet he has all sorts of offers from other clubs (his words not mine)!!!! Isn't that somewhat strange???? Obviously his agent has been very busy.
BlueABS
He is going to sit down, on holiday, and decide what is best for HIM!!! LOL! Is he forgetting the contract he has with Chelsea???
BlueABS
I wouldn't mind having Mikel as an Option/Back up for Matic/Febregas. I don't see him as a Regular Starting 11 Player. More than Mikel, its Ramires that I find Frustrating. I hope we sell him or if we do keep him, I hope Jose won't play Ramires regularly. I agree with you Persian, Mikel has not Courted or Flirted with the Media. Any player concerned with his Place and Future in Chelsea ought to talk with Jose and the Chelsea Management in Private. Why take all the Dirty Laundry to the Media who mostly paint Chelsea in Dirty Colours?
StamfordDLion
Or should I say 4 games in? When Lukaku requested a transfer after getting some minutes, while Azpi NONE.
BlueMIA
LOL @ the feeble arguments against Lukuaku. See how easy it is to come up with a provocative statement. Azpi at LB was clear once Mourinho played him for two games replacing a fading Cole. In fact the lottery numbers may just be the same as Lukaku beating out 3 other strikers.
ACLamp
He might have been busy at the WC, but that would not stop his agent meeting with the Chelsea board, hey even Jose over the phone if necessary. No, far too busy hawking his client around the other CL teams.
BlueABS
Look Bertrand was clearly never going to bench Cole and Cole was not going to play all games so the odds aren't as impossible as one thinks. Maybe Bertrand could have a Lukaku stance on game time., which he did with less 'stimulating' comments.
ACLamp
I am waiting for him to draw the KDB card - I wasn't given a chance at Chelsea. Ha!
BlueABS
I would sell Mikel and give his squad spot to a more suitable player for the new system. Don't want one injury bringing us back to square one.
ACLamp
We hoped he was going to be another Drogba but so far to this point he is another Adebayor wth a bigger mouth . However if we decide to keep him im sure Jose will sort him out ,if not 25 mil and sell him to Spain or Germany .
Michael Reid
Since when has this article been about Azpi & Cole???
BlueABS
Come on, keep up, stick with the programme LOL!
BlueABS
More diversionary tactics >>>>> Mikel LOL!
BlueABS
Got you A CALL 4 games in the season when Azpi constantly benched and Lukaku getting minutes it was as clear as day light Lukaku should have asked for a loan rather than Azpi. Not only was it certain Azpi would get game time it was 100% on the cards he would play LB over Coke who 4 games into season wasn't showing much down fall yet.
BlueMIA
If all else fails, mention Mikel LOL! That will divert the conversation. The word is that Lukaku is the new Mikel LOL!
BlueABS
ACL*
BlueMIA
Thanks BlueMIA for reminding us of the chance Lukaku was given pre-season, that went really well then! All that sticks in my mind was his penalty in the SC. It all seems downhill from that point Lukaku <<>> Chelsea
BlueABS
I was replying to a Mikel comment made, that should have been ignored. That first four games of the season record is overplayed when you factor in settling in of Eto'o, Utd's tactics and with Ba & Torres still starting ahead of him. He was still potential 3rd/4th choice in those 4 games.
ACLamp
StamfordDLion - well it seems to me Mikel have offered much more than just his contributions on the pitch... and maybe that's why the club extended his contract for 5 years just last summer... I think he's now like an ambassador for Chelsea...... he's obviously popular, especially in Nigeria.... the club sells his jerseys and he may well has played a role in bringing Moses and Omeru to the club (along with Michael Emenalo)..... I'm happy that Omeru is copying Mikel's off the pitch attitude and loyalty
The Persian
Adebayor is better than him (and that's saying something)!!!
BlueABS
Lukaku should take a leaf out of his compatriot TC's book. It was touch and go whether TC came back after 3 years with AM, to whom he obviously grew very attached to. Prove you are a no.1 selection prospect. Then you have a shout at regular first team selection in a top, top club.
BlueABS
LMAO @ OMG!!
BlueABS
ACL not to be insulting but you are acting a bit like a glorified hind sight poster. With the bias Mountain had/has for Iva there is no way, and damn I mean no way, you could have went to the beginning of the season and said Azpi would get more game time than Lukaku and he would do it by displacing Cole. As a matter of fact in hindsight Lukaku would have got many chances to show his worth.
BlueMIA
Mourinho*. Damn phone
BlueMIA
Azpi is absolutely the example that Lukaku should have followed, not the KDB example
BlueABS
Has anyone bought a Chelsea blue Lukaku shirt yet LMAO!!!
BlueABS
Terry 2008 CL. Lets not not blow things out of proportion, especially when Atletico mauled Chelsea 4-1 with fan favourite right there in midfield. Wasn't the Super Cup just a tin pot back then?

If so, I suggest your nearest local charity shop, but do it in the early hours for fear of someone seeing your Lukaku shirt LMAO!!!
BlueABS
Whatever you say FV, that does not excuse that pathetic penalty from our man Lukaku
BlueABS
there might as well not be a 'blukaku' as things are going. LOL. Maybe @solid7 would look into the future and give us some answers on this too. No? lol
kolagold25
Hind sight poster perhaps, but odds would dictate that you have a better chance at first team play competing with one dude which turn into two guys for two positions than 3 guys for 1 person. It is true that Azpi may have sat down for a bit too long but his case would be weaker simply because he had less people to displace. I knew Cole would not last long but I thought a new LB would come in Jan. Wrong there since Azpi came in. I actually thought Ivanovic would run out of steam and rotate with Cesar. It is actually clear that Bertrand was not rated and honestly Mourinho would be stupid in keeping Iva and Cole playing the whole season., so we do not truly know what his plans for fullback were.
ACLamp
If a player sits on the bench: He's greedy, lazy, lacks ambition. Only wants money.
If he wants to play: He should be happy about sitting on the bench.

ok i'm taking sides with FV on this. the lukaku penalty shouldn't be blown out of proportion. Lukaku's penalty = mata's penalty in champs league final. Poor

People like this guy hardly succeed in life, when that happens they turn to pour the blame on somebody. I am wondering what he want. Torres has been in a similar situattion ( if not the same) and he is quiet and fighting for his role. Azpillicueta did the same and Shurrle. He thinks Cheslea is like Everton or Liverpool or better still Arsenal that he will become an automatic stater. He will be an automatic pick for all the PL teams excpet Chelsea, Man City and Man U. We can't be in the same soup with people of Lukaku's type

why are people comparing Azpi with lukaku...its an absolute stupid comparison. they are 2 different positions. and azpi would naturally be be less of a risk for jose to give game time to because he plays in a position that if he puts a foot wrong he has cover. we play with one striker at chelsea, so not a position that can be carried for lukaku's sake. in order to guarantee first team football in a wc year lukaku had to go on loan so he didnt risk is wc position simple as. Lukaku has never said anything bad about chelsea and wants to play for us, he's always been a fan (just check a youtube video from way back when he came to tour stamford bridge way back). like any passionate hungry footballer he wants game time. He's witnessed that traditionally young strikers aren't really given a chance at chelsea i.e kalou (who made 200 sub appearances for us, never given full confidence) and sturridge (who proved in his loan spell and after when he came back and was being played out of position that he was capable, and it was only realised once he left). Lukaku fear's just like them he might not get his chance even though like sturridge he has proven himself. never has he said anything against chelsea, the only thing he's moaned about is wanting a fair chance for us which is fair enough as the evidence suggests no other young striker has been given a chance in the past and his moaning is more directed at wanting this to change. to compare to mikel is also pathetic because mikel is not of the same calibre as lukaku, it would be the same as saying why isnt carl jenkinson complaining about being second choice rb at arsenal...errrm maybe because he is second choice and the media couldnt give a crap about him like mikel. the media are more likely to talk to world class players and potentials like lukaku and that why maybe you here from him more. but bottom line is it will be chelsea loss if they let him go, just like it ws for sturridge!
Ess...DaBison
Watching David Luiz play today against Germany was full vindication of whatever unpopular choices Jose Mourinho made this season with regards to personnel. We sometimes get blind, watching them play in our colours, and getting attached. But suddenly, it's all put into perspective when you see those players showing their true colours somewhere else. Whatever Jose decides with Lukaku will be the right choice. Total confidence, at this point...

I still find it amazing that there is so much attention paid to a player that has feet that slow, almost no first touch, passes worse than Ramires, has almost no tactical or positional awareness, seemingly has a hyper inflated opinion of himself and has the first touch of a rebound net. Sell him now before he says anything else more destructive to himself. 20 million would be plenty just so we can quit discussing a player of this pedestrian talent and caliber

Wow ! Few years ago this guy, who was crying to be a part of Chelsea, with Drogba as his idol and wanted to replace him in the main team. And all of sudden wanted to quit. I wish we sell him at earliest so that he will not disturb the other players in team. And thank god that we got reed of Etto. dont want such big mouth players at club who think they are better than club. Cesc signing is Fab-ulas ! ------------ Curtious ----------- Azpi --- Cahill -- Terry --- Luis ------------ Matic -------------- ---- Cesc --------- Oscar ------ --- Schurrle --------- Hazard -- -------------- Costa ------------ Formation : 4-3-3

Stamfordlion, I've heard the same pathetic bleating about selling Sturidge on this forum (I don't know - judging by your current incessant criticism of Lukaku - maybe you were part of chorus as well). And I've also seen the same quotation of past record justifying huge expensive moves of Shevchenko & Torres. Judging someone on Past season performances..a five year could do that. I've been here long enough to know how we @ CFC keep going in circles. I hope I am proved wrong because that'll be best for this club BUT I have a bad feeling about Costa (my football intuition). Regarding Lukaku, I know this is Sturidge-2. Big powerful battering ram adjusts well in Jose system and I know we will regret selling him just as we have done with numerous players in the past. Lukaku does have big mouth no doubt but lot of other (successful players) have too, clubs and mangers manage them and channel that.
