Filipe Luis Transfer is ON!

Filipe Luis Transfer is ON!

News has broken around lunchtime here in the UK that the signing of Felipe Luis has moved a huge step nearer.

Chelsea have announced that they have agreed a transfer fee with Atletico Madrid for the 28 year-old left back and that all that remains is for personal terms to be sorted out.

Luis has been pushing for a move to Stamford Bridge with rumours doing the rounds that he has been forced to train with the reserves, in Madrid, as the Brazilian seeks to move to London.

Me thinks since it is not expressly stated that we're meeting the buy-out-clause, the fee should be less than the clause...

We sold Mata, KdB, Luiz and Ba and bought Fab, Costa, Luis, Matic Zouma and Salah for only 6M more. Great business.! # ThankYouRoman

A younger cheaper option is unavailable according to Chelsea's top brass so there you go. You are welcome Mr Luis if rigid and ungrateful Atletico allow you to leave their pathetic club.

Good signing. One of the problem areas fixed and Azpi can go back to being a RB. We are all sorted for the new season with this signing. Btw. In the poll, why wasn't Mikel included. I think he was Chelsea's best player at the WC after Schurrle and partially Oscar. Anyway, with the problem areas addressed (and yes, they ARE addressed no matter how much some here want fantasy football) I believe that it is a great thing. Not to many players in, clinical purchases that address the leaks of the previous season and add competition for places. Costa, Torres, Lukaku (not necessarily in that order), Schurrle, Hazard, Willian, Salah (again, nnito), Oscar, Fabregas, Piazon (maybe), Matic, Mikel, Ramires, MVG and a firm back line. I can see 2, maybe 3 youngsters being in the team as a competition for places and backup to the first team. One in defense and one or two in mid/attack. Chelsea is all set for the new season and it will be fantastic that they will have a full preseason together under the watchful eye of Mourinho. Looking forward already as it is a month from the league start. I expect fringe players to start leaving as the preseason proceeds and new season begins, but the core is there it isn't changed all that much yet competition has been increased. Excellent work by the board/staff so far.

I don't seems to understand, 8m for Ba looks ok to us while we sign someone of the same age for 20/24mil euros. I think the highest fee we should have gone for filipe shouldn't have been more than 10mil pounds. He will have little to no resale value ffs

@FS, I am confused with your comment above. You are the only person i'd known in the world who thought mikel did great in the WC. And i am yet to find a Nigerian who share your line of thought.

He's a class act and the perfect age.He knows what's what and not reached his peak yet. Will be a great combination on the left with Hazard, with Azpi on the right with Willian, two natural attacking full backs.

Excellent signing!! Off the back of this, I am going to be expecting more from Hazard, he should no longer feel isolated on that LW, Luis likes to attack. Let's hope they do gel, it might make Hazard more willing to reciprocate and help Luis in defence.

Mikel was terrible at the WC.The Nigerian's were trying to say it was hard for him to change his game from being DM to being creative, that's why he was so bad.The honest truth is,he's just bad.
