The season is still a fair way off with the plethora of pre-season games here and abroad having to be contended with first but, already; the anticipation levels are growing.

With the squad having been reshuffled at Stamford Bridge with some pretty familiar names having left and with some more, quite probably, to be moved on, Chelsea supporters are hoping that the influx of signings Chelsea have made will see us mount a genuine title challenge.

Of those that are coming in, the Chelsea support have high hopes that Diego Costa can prove to be something that several in the past have failed to do, become a goal-scoring centre forward for us.

I`ve lost count of the number of strikers that have failed to reproduce the scoring form they showed before they seemed to become like rabbits in headlights at Stamford Bridge, from Robert Fleck to Fernando Torres you might say.

Today it has been announced that Costa will wear the #19 shirt as he seeks to make an instant impact in the Premier League. Is it too much to hope for that the Brazilian born Spanish international celebrates his first season in the Premier League with 19 Premier League goals?

That would be some first season would it not!

More than 19 PL goals & couple of goals in CL & FA Cup is my hope, expectation & fervent prayer @Merlin. The squad performance last season was not bad either as we narrowly missed out in clinching the title & have reached the semi finals of the CL. With these quality additions & hopefully a CM/B2B in the mould of Pogba to partner Matic, & moving on Mikel (thanking him for all he achieved with CFC) our playing style will change & we might break our very own PL goal scoring record i hope. Wishing each & every member of the squad goodluck & Godwilling all shall start to hit the ground running. KTBFFH!!!

If he flops like the others then it will be glaring that our problem is definitely not from strikers and Torres will be exonerated. Up Chelsea, Up Torres!
