Getting Shirty!

Getting Shirty!

Flicking through the tabloid papers this morning as I walked in to work desperately trying not to walk into one of the trees that litter my route, I noticed something that might provide us with a point to discuss.

Lurking amongst the sports pages f the Daily Star was the inference that you are unable to get shirt sprinted for two of our current squad.

Apparently, the suggestion is that if you walked into the Megastore and wanted a shirt with either Thibaut Courtois or Romelu Lukaku on the back it`d be a no-go.

It seems that neither of the young Belgians has been allocated a squad number for next season, yet.

Now there may be a completely plausible reason but, then again, there may be dark forces at work here!

Does anyone have any thoughts on the subject matter?

I think it is still early days. I still believe there will be a few outings to pave way for the new ones. no need to rush. I have a feeling that the club wants to get stable with the players they will use for the season before the shirt numbers are allocated. You could even recall that Fillipe Luis was given number 5, and was later given to Zouma and now he has 3.

The squad is not intact or settled yet so let wait till they are. We can't always buy some of the stories of these media, most of them are meant for daily bread and popularity.

Maybe Jose decided to play some prank with the tabloids and their rumourmill.

Courtois will probably be 13 but the was Moses number, both have been on holiday. The numbers will be sorted out by the weekend.

Well Lukaku sale should be announced, but the Courtois case is a bit weird.

I think, in the case of Courtois, that JM might want him back at the camp to ascertain his attitude given that Cech is fit again and working towards full fitness. It may well be that he isn't happy with whatever happens with JM and really, those 2 players are the only ones giving our management any sleepiness nights...so perhaps a wait and see is the strategy. If reports are to be believed, Lukaku is out anyway. Now to find out what I keeper wants to do.

Simple, if Cech is sold Courtois gets number 1, if he stays then some other number
