Going, Going……………Gone!

Going, Going……………Gone!

The grapevine has been alive, all afternoon, with the inference that Romelu Lukaku is set to leave Stamford Bridge.

As I predicted / implied yesterday, there was never going to be anyway that Lukaku would be with us come the end of the transfer window.

Now it appears that the move is all but done with Everton set to pay a fee, said to be around the £24 million mark, for the player.

If you doubt the above, then simply ask yourselves why Everton have called a press conference for 19:00 hours this evening!

The word seems to be £24m plus add-ons if Everton win something or qualify for the UCL, potentially taking the deal to £30m.

Apart from the ad-ons i hope CFC have inserted a sell on clause of like say 25% similar to the ones done by Arsenal wrt to Fabregas. Let him go wherever as i consider him a coward unable to stay & fight for his place. Am so disappointed about that news i must say. Smh!

shlok27, But Lukaku wants to be guaranteed first choice which is not going to happen at Chelsea. Lukaku is agitating for the move and Chelsea - who received a £5m loan fee last season - are going to receive another £25m. Near enough paying for Diego Costa. I wish Lukaku would have stayed and fought for his place put he didn't have the heart and Jose will not put up with players that will not fight for the jersey. Good luck to the guy I think he has found his level. He might be the next Darren Bent.

shlok27, Chelsea bought Lukaku for £12m plus add-ons which would take it to £18m but he never triggered the add-ons. If you say we bought him for £18m then we sold him for £30m. Also, my understanding is Everton paid a £5m loan last season. So we have received around £30m + add-ons.

Home grown ,a talent in the making and we sell him so cheap . If Costa gets suspended or injured we are stuck with Torres and an aging Drog ..

@Cobhamblue, that's exactly the point i wanted to make. We bought him for £12 million. The add-ons were performance related but he never really make serious appearances to help us win anything. He's been on loan for two seasons now. So selling him for £30 million (including add-ons) is a huge business. Kudos the top brass. We can now move on and talk about more serious matters. I was thorn in between selling and keeping him but now the decision has been made. All the best to him against Man city, united, liverpool and arsenal but not us.

Don't blame JOSE and CHELSEA. Jose and Chelsea grated his wish to go out on LOAN in the 11th hour of the Transfer Window Last Season. Now they have Granted his Wish of being SOLD to Everton.

He has acted like he is a world class striker for a couple of years and hasn't been anywhere near world class in my opinion. Should've stayed and fought for his place instead of whining like a petulant child

Whew!!!! Finally, we all can rest...... Now, let's get a second choice striker who can work in tight spaces & find a buyer for Torres also.......
