Swift Joins Rotherham

Swift Joins Rotherham

News has broken this afternoon that our young midfielder, Jonathan Swift, has joined Rotherham on a season long loan.

Nineteen year-old Swift has made on senior appearance for Chelsea will continue his education up in Yorkshire.

Talking about the acquisition of a youngster Chelsea feel has the ability to make a huge impact in the game, the Rotherham boss, Steve Evans, has remarked,

'It has taken many weeks to secure the signature of this young man and I suppose I could say my tenacity has paid off."

'A number of fellow Championship clubs, as well as two European clubs, were keen to sign John but thankfully he has decided his immediate footballing future is at Rotherham United.'

Here at Vital Chelsea we wish Jonathan all the best during his season long loan spell.

A very good loan move for one of our best Academy talents! There he would be among the first names on the teamsheet and enough game time to develop his full potentials. Swift and Baker re our best chances of having Academy graduates in our starting 11. Josh, chalobah & Kane gave us high hopes but sadly can't see them ever making the grade. Bamford too is looking good to be a future star for us!
