Chelsea Loans System: Never Incoming?
Chelsea have taken advantage of the brisk business of loaning out players for fees to clubs across Europe and the rest of the world over the last few years more so than most of its peers, but it's almost always a one-way traffic.
A raft of young and not-so-young players depart Stamford Bridge to partner clubs abroad annually, but nobody ever comes to our great club on loan save for the last one, one Ricardo Quaresma, if memory serves correctly, back in 2009; we usually buy outright nowadays after all, as we say, we are Chelsea...
But now that reports are saying some big names are becoming available for loan transfers, and the cry that we need a relatively young proficient striker either as competition for Torres and Drogba or replacement for the faltering Fernando as deputy to Diego Costa, is getting louder, I was wondering if anyone has yet heard of any prolific goal scorer [before the use of the term 'striker' becomes superfluous] available on loan that the club might want to consider this window, as we obviously still have enough quid to equip ourselves further for the battle ahead.
You just never know, your suggestion today or decision by someone might well be the difference between being champions come May 2015 or enduring yet another "potless" summer!
All of us want the silver pot with the golden crown for cover this term, right? You bet, me too. But let's not lose sight of the Kun Agueros and the Yaya Toures, because as it stands, it seems we're a tad too comfortable thinking Costa and Fabregas give us approximately what Aguero and Toure give City respectively, whereas I'm not quite certain, considering all the variables.
