'If It's Football, It's Vital'

A Hard One to Call?

With speculation increasing by the day that Petr Cech could well be leaving Chelsea Football Club with Thibaut Courtois set to inherit his mantle as our regular keeper, is the scene set for Jose Mourinho to do a deal that could see a player-exchange deal materialize?

The reason we ask is that speculation also continues to grow that Chelsea Football Club are in the market for another centre-back, something we mentioned yesterday (Thursday).

Therefore, as if by magic, the rumours are now starting to entwine with it being mentioned that an ideal solution, for Chelsea Football Club, could see Petr Cech move to Real Madrid, to join forces with Carlo Ancelotti again, with the Real Madrid young centre back Raphael Varane moving to Stamford Bridge.

This, so we`re told, would give Petr Cech a marvellous swansong to his incredible career, remove any concerns about friction in the camp (as far as who`d be the regular starter between the sticks) and also provide Chelsea Football Club with the central defender the media insists we`re after.

The only problem possibly being that Real Madrid might not be in total agreement with the plan and may want to hold onto 21 year-old Raphael Varane!

Its a no brainer really and think any real Celsea supporter would say so. We try to make a good deal for Petr. Since Lamps joined Citeh its opened my eyes to the fact its ONLY fans thats got loyalty and passion in football. This is no knee jerk reaction from some mindless ijit its just a fact. If Lamps can sell his soul and play for Citeh then players see a football club purely as a job at another large corporation. So now I look at the game in a totally different way and see the players with my head not my heart as before. When Petr took over Cudicinis job when he got a knock pre season, Jose didnt have any question about what to do. Cudi had been with us awhile and the fans liked him. But now Petr has done an incredible job for us for a long period. Keepers can play even into their 40s ok but Courtois is undoubtably going to be the best keeper ever known and thinking money wise will be worth an enorpous amount of money to the club as it seems its all about the money. Ive heard that we have offered TC double his wahes to 60k a week and a contract till 2009 and I dont think its enough. We should offer him some type of golden handcuffs with some type of term that he ges 'X' if he stays past 5 years and more for each year etc. But as for trading Petr Im all for it. Im more concerned what type of position the player plays. We NEED more striking power. We have gotten rid rightly or wrongly of Lukaku who was a real good young striker. The ONLY performing stiker we have is Costa who is perfect for us. BUT whats going to happen when he is injured or suspended which is bound to happen. We will be left with a misfiring Torres and supersub Drogs. Jose will not uise Schurle for some reason as a striker only on the wing dont ask me why tho cause Im at a loss as its his favoured position and as the cup showed he can score. So as GOOD keepers at the moment are needed by alot of the bigger clubs they would snap our hand off for Petr. I say we do a swap shop for the best striker we can get. Its a great bargaining power.

The best solution for both Cech and Chelsea is to transfer him to France with PSG or Monaco if they are interested.

They say Real madrid is the pinnacle of football. if so be it then Cech has done enough to be wanted and i think Chelsea have the right cover in Coutios . Chelsea do need a centreback and Varane got a lot of experience under his belt for his age and will be an ideal. The best scenerio for chelsea before the satrt of the season is to do the swap with Real madrid for Varane but i dont know if Madrid will accept as they dont have a replacement. Anyway Chelsea also need to get Rabiot. I think it will be a good bargain for 8M that is being quoted as he is just 19 and he can provide a good cover in the midfield along with MVG. I also think Mourinho is not going to get anothr striker fior now until January . He has already told Torres he is part of his plan right from the end of lat season and he want to keep his word to him but i think we will have to wait until january to see how much Torres can contribute and then we will send him to Monaco or Spain and get another front man . Right now we need either Varane or Benatia as well as Rabiot and we are good to go !

Unionjack had really mentioned sometnhing worth thinking about. There seems to be no loyalty in players with respect to their clubs anylonger. They just see it as the next job. If that should be the case, maybe clubs need to start looking at all player like just the next deal/money to be made. Hence, Cech can be sold to Real Madrid and forget about trying to compete with courtois. He is just the next money to be made you know. Such a paradigm shift in the way things use to be.

Lamps wearing a Citeh shirt was like a switch going off in my head and I just realised it was just us fans that put emotion into the game now. So although Ill never stop going to the Bridge and the season tickets safe Ive got 21 years of collecting Blues memorabilia going up on eBay very soon and the next close season will be spent getting wrecked in Thailand.

Chelsea are in the market for 2 positions: 1.) Center Back and 2.) Striker. The Central midfield is not a priority at the moment and will be solved next summer. Petr Cech is a serious "KEY" solution to to these positions as 1.) PSG are after him and 2.) Real Madrid as well. I also think his agent has made the situation more complicated with his comments the past few months about not sitting on the bench etc...which is normal since Cech has served the club well over the past decade. Chelsea are chasing Varane and Cavani. Cavani's price is too high, but he is hell bent on leaving France because he hates PSG and I doubt Petr Cech will want to go there unless they offer stupendous salary. Real Madrid is attractive and I won't be surprised if we hear a transfer has been made pretty soon. The only reason I can think Chelsea has not sold yet or made the announcement of a sale is unless Mourinho wants Varane in return, but we will see. The last 22 days will be inetersting from the keeper, defense (critical) and striker (critical) positions could see moves before the window closes.

We don`t need yet another defender. We have only got ONE decent striker in Costa and we need some quality to help him, or cover for him if he were to injured. It looks like once again we will have the best defence in the league, but not win it, because we can`t put the ball in the net when required.

Of the many illogical rumours, this is particularly outlandish. Keylor Navas was possibly the most impressive keeper at the WC. (Neuer is a machine but didn't have nearly so much to do.) IMO, Iker's always been overrated and is clearly experiencing some issues but he's still not someone you want riding the bench. And Diego Lopez earned the position last year. THREE KEEPERS battling for 1 spot is right than our 2-way race. In addition, a center-half signing would be a luxury for us. (And a costly luxury given our homegrown predicament!) I wanted Varane, but we signed Zouma. Terry and Cahill will start until someone dislodges them. We have a great 4th CD in Iva and will probably be left with a satisfactory fifth from the youth even after all our loans. Bottom line: it makes little sense for us and EVEN LESS for Real.
