Ripples of the Lampard move - Cesc ain't Frank

Ripples of the Lampard move - Cesc ain't Frank

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho apparently still can't get over
the charm of Chelsea legend, Frank Lampard, that sometimes you begin to wonder just why oh why he allowed him to end up at Manchester City albeit via New York City in the first place.

The portuguese enigma whilst speaking to a certain Rio Ferdinand in an interview for BT Sport recently has been
quoted by the Independent as saying:

"Frank is Frank, he is irreplaceable, no chance. We have to forget Frank because as you know he is a very special man
but very, very special player."

The Special One then went on to say that Fàbregas, the former Arsenal captain, was not signed to replace the legend but for his [Cesc's] own distinctive qualities:

"I think we can never say, in spite of Cesc, who is a fantastic player as you know, you can never say, 'This guy is coming to replace Frank`, because Frank is Frank.

"One day he [Lampard] will be with Peter Osgood in a statue because he`s fantastic," Mourinho insisted.

"Fàbregas is the player we need to modify a little bit the profile of our game, which we need. We want to give the next dimension to our game in midfield and Fàbregas is this kind of player which I like to call 'the 7′, because he`s not the 6 and he`s not the 8.

"Normally the 7 is the winger, I also call the 7 the guy in midfield who`s not the 6, he`s not the 8. Or he`s a 6 and 8 at the same time. So he`s a 7 and we need him a lot."

Hmmm...

Well a statue up there with Osgood? Oh, good!

What a damned good recommendation, you'd say, which leads us just nicely to the million-dollar question: Why didn't Jose or someone do his utmost to keep Lampard with us, as it once appeared the legend was harbouring designs of doing a Ryan Giggsy with us?

Or, if you will, as Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has been criticizing the move which the player calls a 'fantastic opportunity':

Where will Wenger rather have Lampard?

Can someone frankly come up with a Frank answer?

jose didnt keep him so that 1)we can have space in the squad for new players 2)lower the wage bill 3)an evolution in style of play jose wants to adopt 4)he doesnt want to be a bit part player 5)its the best move for both the club and him

What is this...really..I for one could care less where the dude ends up...just grateful he is gone. Cesc is a vast improvement and if he remains fit will surpass him in time. I would ask that we stop putting up articles about him but I'm not part of his church of followers or a member of admin. This is getting lame now.

There was Barcelona's false nine now there's Jose's false number 7.

Anyways, I agree with Jose. Fabregas is brought in for creativity not more for goals but he'll of course score a bunch of goals.

Lampard is finished. He's been on a decline since 2010.

Can we stop the frank lampard articles??? Constant putting up of these Frank Lampard articles which reminds fans of his new association which City will maybe in time rile peeps up towards the negative, trust me while some peeps don't care where he plays.. Some of us do and the constant reminder won't help us just forget the issue. Let's move on... We have very exciting players, let's keep talking abt them, and not past players who have their place in history.

lampards time was over no one should be compared or thought as a replacement for other its disgusting to do n demeans the other .... holding on to lamps for few more months would only hamper chelsea n stop the progress of the youngsters like mvg n others .... i feel lampard should enjoy his time wherever he feels n likes n come back to cfc as a staff or coach <3

Smh for u hadbag.. "Cesc to outshine him"... I knw u hate lampard but atleast u av to be reasonable and appreciate frank time for with us once.. 211goals with ova 100assists is nt a small feat for any player to achieve.. Always postin negative comment wen its come to Lampard. As for d article. I tink Jose is right with his statement.
