Benatia Move Draws Nearer?

Benatia Move Draws Nearer?

Although the general consensus of opinion amongst the Vital Chelsea fraternity is that any Chelsea interest in Medhi Benatia is press generated, the rumours continue to gather momentum.

Today, our good friends over at the Daily Express are intimating that moves to push through a deal for the 27 year-old AS Roma centre-back, are continuing.

The paper is championing the fact that AS Roma`s sporting director is in London to discuss the £30 million transfer of the Moroccan international.

Despite the general dismissal, by all of us at Vital Chelsea, of such a move, could it be about to happen before our very eyes?

I just dont see why unless its to replace JT when he leaves because we have the defence sorted. What we are ignoring again is another striker because of now theres only Costa we can RELY on. When hes injured or suspended we dont have a backup apart from a misfiring with double vision Torres and a slow supersub Drogs.

Although I love the guy the best thing Drogs will do for us is give the team spirit and unite the fans. Hes not the Drogs from 2009/10. Hes not nearly as fast or sharp but coming on when we NEED another forward for 15 mins then great but we need a striker who will last 90 minutes and score goals. drogs cant do that any more.

we need a pivot player and a we are interested in signing cb..this happens only at chelsea...what will happen if matic get injured....there is no backup...neither mikel or rami is good enough for that post...once gain we are wasting money on cb...cant believe than why 12 million on zouma if you cant trust enough to play him as our backup...

If we actually blow ~ 30 million pounds on a CB when we loaned out two decent cover CBs and if we are doing that on a foreign CB at that then it will be clear we have lost the plot. For a team that still clearly needs a second quality striker and proper central partner for matic to spend such precious monetary and squad slot resources in this manner will approach lunacy.

I hope this is just paper talk because it makes no sense ,spending 30 mil in an area where we already have cover and ignoring two other areas where we need someone .

If he does come then 2 non home players are leaving, not the 1 that curently needs to go. So which 2, a keeper + who?

Why are you guys insulting the club because of a mere rumour? Has Chelsea bought him talk less of £30 million? Go to the official website and see if Benatia is a Chelsea player. Why would you want to think that you have better football knowledge than Jose and the board or that they are fools?

Useless buy. We could have retained any one of Kalas or Omerou as backup to Terry/Cahill/Iva if we think Zouma is not upto the level.

I guess this is purely rumour, because I feel chelsea have matured in transfer dealing and wont buy any overpriced players.
