Mourinho on New Signings!

Jose Mourinho would have enjoyed the trip back to London from Lancashire last night.

After seeing his side come back from a goal down to triumph 3-1, thereby taking the three points on offer, Nourinho would have been particularly pleased with the contributions of his two big-money summer buys, Diego Costa and Cesc Fabregas.

Discussing Costa and, as you`d expect, the incident whereby Chelsea were denied a blatant penalty with Costa picking up a yellow card fro simulation, Mourinho remarked to the media,

"Clearly it is a penalty and more importantly than that it is not a simulation, so the card should taken away."

"I was very happy with how Costa played. Last season he had a fantastic season and in the Spanish League he got five or six yellow cards all year."

"We all explained to him what people like and do not like in the Premier League and he presents himself with a fantastic attitude, clean and polite."

"He has a clear penalty - and yet no penalty and a yellow card."

It`s hard to argue with that and when the referee, Michael Oliver, watches a replay of the incident he will see that he got his call completely wrong.

Continuing, Mourinho switched his intentions to Fabregas, further adding,

"Fabregas was our first choice for that position and he is giving us exactly what we need - quick thinking in midfield."

"He brings people in the same direction and I am really happy with him."

Indeed he did and both players can be well pleased with their contributions.

I was surprised at the sudden change of attitude of Costa; if it was in his days at Athletico, He would've been stood face-to-face with the referee for that yellow card... The Mourinho's counsel is working I guess!

true talk Ikdaniels... was so surprised he was not confrontational which was a clear departure from is A. Madrid days. the likes of Chris Foocker Foy would have been relishng dishing out the cards when they saw reels of his game last season... Suck it up Sooockers.

i am Not too much excited yet, we got a favorable opening fixtures at the start of EPL this season, i still see these first two match as a preparation for the season . i also enjoyed our performance last night.. I trust we will do even better against leicester at our home, then we should be ready for the real test which starts against everton in two weeks that is our real start of the season.. and one more thing, we desperately need one more striker for backup as well as to give competition for D.costa, then our team will be Untouchables

Why can't Torres follow play like Costa? The man doesn't want to play for Chelsea.

Foreign: I wonder if you still think Costa is One Dimensional and Overrated?

Costa scored a tap in. Calm down. Mandzukic and Gomez score those all the time. I suppose since Torres happened every striker doing his job looks very good.

With that said, I'm liking Costa very much. His backup, I'm not sure about. The whole season rests on him being fully fit. Drogba has to get into form quickly.

Late October, November and December. Go through those months still on top, the league would be done and dusted.
