My! How the Price Has Fallen!

My! How the Price Has Fallen!

Does anyone remember when we were talking about Chelsea paying silly money for Radamel Falcao?

If I remember right, there was talk in the air of a deal being done for the 28 year old striker for a reported fee of anything between £35 million and £50 million.

As it turned out Falcao went to AS Monaco and Chelsea were left to gather up the crumbs and sign the ageing Samuel Eto`o.

Well it seems that a year in French football has seen Falcao`s price come tumbling down with it being reported this morning that he has joined Real Madrid for a fee said to be in the region of £20 million.

With a daily debate taking place, on Vital Chelsea, about our apparent lack of depth in the striking department, does anyone care to kick-start that debate again now that you can throw into the mix the number of quality forwards Carlo Ancelotti has at his disposal at the Bernabeu?

20 mill for a year loan, that is an equivalent of 60 mill for a three year contract, the price has even skyrocketed...

the guy will be a good signing for Madrid though, He is miles better than Benzema who to me is not much better than Torres...

For me he has been the best striker for last 3 years or so. Don't know how he will perform after his injury. Any team would love to have him, I would take him for 20 million euro even if it is 1 year loan. I read somewhere Arsenal are after him, just hope they don't get him.

Benzema is way better than Torres. His only problem is "winger" Ronaldo taking his position up front. Ronaldo almost always ends up ahead of Benzema.

No. I would have Ronaldo for Chelsea in a heartbeat. For me, he was more special when he played for Manure.

Falcao for 20 mil for a season long loan ,considering Wegner really wants him it would be great to snatch him out of Arsenal's hands . Its not like we do not need him .

A top club will sign him, who actually understands that goals win titles. Our forward line has always been the weakest part of our team structure since Roman took over. Eminalo`s Achilles I call it. Unfortunately a stronger defence as opposed to attack, has always been our approach. Hence why we are effectively a cup team and not a perpetual title winning side. If any of Man City`s forwards got injured today, Falcao would be in Manchester tomorrow. Salah and Ake should both be loaned out this season, to bring in 2 new forwards if Torres were to leave. Otherwise, its the cups it is.

20 mill euros per season long loan. That's what reports say. It's not a transfer. A permanent transfer will take upwards of 50 mill + pounds.

With his injuries, he's Torres MK II.
