Hiddink Heading for a Premier League Return?
The managerial merry-go-round saw the axe fall on the reign of Aitor Karanka at Middlesbrough in midweek.
Karanka lost his job after a poor run of results left Middlesbrough in danger of dropping into the relegation dog-fight.
At the moment Middlesbrough are putting their faith in Karanka`s assistant, Steve Agnew, with the plan being that with the international break almost upon us, they have time to assess their options.
But, according to the Telegraph, one option Middlesbrough are considering is that of Guus Hiddink.
Hiddink has already spent two spells with Chelsea, albeit in a caretaker role when managers have been axed at Stamford Bridge, with Middlesbrough believing the Dutchman, who is now 70-years-old, can turn the club around.
Personally, if the speculation is true, I reckon Hiddink will politely decline the offer, at 70-years-of-age does Guus really need the kind of grief he`d face trying to turn around the fortunes of a club who seem to drop out of the Premier League and then climb back in to it with a degree of regularity!
