Can You Predict - Spurs (FA Cup Semi)

Can You Predict - Spurs (FA Cup Semi)

It`s that time of the week again, time to exercise the old grey matter.

Following the defeat, at the hands of Manchester United on Easter Sunday, Chelsea return to action this Sunday tea-time with an intriguing FA Cup semi-final tie at Wembley Stadium.

The fixture gives Chelsea the perfect opportunity to get back to winning ways against a side who, following two defeats for Chelsea recently, also have aspiration of a League and Cup double, Tottenham Hotspur.

On the last two occasions the two sides have clashed at Wembley, Chelsea have come out on top with the Chelsea support having fond memories of the 5-1 trouncing handed out, also in a semi-final, back in 2012.

But, having lost at Old Trafford, could Antonio Conte decide to shuffle his starting eleven?

At Old Trafford, both Thibaut Courtois and Marcos Alonso were not in the starting eleven and Chelsea supporters will be hoping that both have recovered sufficiently to play.

With the game looming large on the horizon, we`re giving one Vital Chelsea member the opportunity to win a goody-bag.

All we`re asking you to do is to predict the following:

1 - Name the starting eleven that Antonio Conte will select.

2 - Name the first player, either side, to be shown a yellow card.

The first correct entry posted in our comments facility ahead of the team-sheets being announced will collect the prize.

Good luck to you all.

Predictions aside, if Antonio Conte persists with playing Costa up front, we will not only lose against Spurs, but could fail to win Premier League. And unfortunately that would be the end of Conte in the summer, as Roman would not accept the humiliation of squandering a 10 point lead to anyone, let alone Spurs. It only takes 2 draws and we are in trouble.

If Spurs coach decides to man marked again Hazard & Pedro, and then decide to line up quicker center forwards against the sloppy trio of Luiz, Cahill & Zouma; and is unable to motivate the rest of our team to fight for the blue shirt; believe me, we are going for a second humiliation in a week as Spurs is currently more ruthless than Mourinho's Man Utd.

On current form it doesn't look good especially if Conte's love child Costa is selected, side show Bob goes back to his old habits & Matic forgets to switch his brain on. However, where there's a will there's a way!!!

With Costa and matic in the starting line up, then I'm afraid we might not win the match.

with Costa and matic in dat game, sure wil b a long day!! Can we play witout Costa and matic? I tink is d best option we av. matic is too slow and reminds me of mikel bt evn worse nw. he only plays sideways and takes d whole energy of the team. coz he cnt make a tru pass. so why is he in d game wen he's not contributing anytin 2 d match? Costa is jas short one.

I want the lineup to be...... Courtois.... Azpi. Luiz, Cahill....... Moses, Zouma, kante, Alonso......Pedro, Hazard, William.

Costa will cost us the FA Cup and the League if he is not dropped, we had a 13 point lead over Spuds a few weeks back, this is unacceptable .

I hold a different opinion with or without Costa & Matic starting, something is making me optimistic that we are still going to win on Saturday. Remember they are so poor playing on the Wembey turf & let's not forget their woeful CL campaign as well as knocked out of Europa by that Belgian club Gent. I foresee a slump in their form at the weekend & beyond & our very resurgence. All Conte needs to do is to outnumber them in midfield with Kante, Cesc & Matic/Chalobah & check their physicality & ability to push forward unhindered. Let's just hope we get Alonso & Moses fit to provide good balance, & then two attacking players in Hazard /Pedro/Costa/Batsman/Willian/RLC (in no particular order)....i believe that we will be good to go. KTBFFH!!!
