Manager & Player Of The Season Awards - 2016/17

Manager & Player Of The Season Awards - 2016/17

The Premier League have now opened voting for the Manager and Player of the Season Awards for the 2016/17 campaign.

With the Premier League campaign wrapping itself up this weekend with relegations known and Chelsea as Champions, six manager's find themselves on the short list for the Manager Of the Year award.

Eddie Howe (AFC Bournemouth):
AFC Bournemouth's presence in the Premier League will extend to a third season for Howe's exciting side, who won over neutrals with the marauding runs of defender Charlie Daniels, the 16 goals of Joshua King and goalfests such as the 4-3 win over Liverpool.

Sean Dyche (Burnley):
Dyche became the first Burnley manager to steer the club to successive Premier League campaigns. Burnley's success was built on formidable home form that accounted for Liverpool and denied champions Chelsea victory at Turf Moor.

Antonio Conte (Chelsea):
A switch to a 3-4-3 formation in September proved the turning point to Chelsea's season, triggering a 13-match winning run that propelled the side, and the three-time Barclays Manager of the Month winner, to a fifth PL title in the Italian's maiden campaign.

Paul Clement (Swansea City):
Swansea were four points adrift at the bottom on a four-match losing streak when Clement took charge on 3 January, but eight wins, including a a first for the club at Anfield, led Swansea to safety.

Mauricio Pochettino (Spurs):
Spurs' transformation into a title-contending force has continued under Pochettino, chasing Chelsea all the way with dynamic, purposeful football which produced the best defensive record so far in the division, their best points return in a Premier League campaign and an unbeaten final season at White Hart Lane.

Tony Pulis (West Brom):
Pulis has a reputation for lifting sides from relegation battles but his West Brom side spent most of the season threatening the European places. Victories such as the 3-0 success over Arsenal secured their joint-best ever Premier League placing of eighth.

Fans have until 11.59pm on May 17 to register their votes, and those votes will be included with the choices of the awards panel.

A shortlist of eight has also been selected for the Player of the Year award:

Alexis Sanchez (Arsenal):
As well as contributing 10 assists to Arsenal's top-four charge, Sanchez has 21 Premier League goals in the season, 15 of which have come away from home - one short of the PL record.

Cesar Azpilicueta (Chelsea):
Playing every minute of Chelsea's Premier League title-winning season, no player has contributed to more clean sheets than Azpilicueta's 16.

Eden Hazard (Chelsea):
The brilliant Belgian has scored or assisted 20 goals for Antonio Conte's champions, completing 134 dribbles and creating 79 chances.

N'Golo Kante (Chelsea):
Chelsea's PFA and FWA Player of the Year has excelled following his transfer from Leicester City, totalling 114 tackles and 79 interceptions.

Romelu Lukaku (Everton):
The runaway leader in the race for the Golden Boot, Romelu Lukaku has 24 goals in 37 appearances and is the first Everton player to score 20 times in a PL season.

Dele Alli (Tottenham Hotspur):
The PFA Young Player of the Year has recorded 17 goals and five assists from midfield, firing Spurs to their best-ever points return in a Premier League campaign.

Harry Kane (Tottenham Hotspur):
Despite two spells of absence through injury, only one player has more goals than Kane's 22, the Spurs striker reaching the 20-goal mark for the third consecutive season.

Jan Vertonghen (Tottenham Hotspur):
Winner of 104 aerial duels, Vertonghen has been a pivotal part of the Premier League's best defensive record, with Spurs conceding only 24 goals.

Fans have until 11.59pm on May 17 to register their votes, and those votes will be included with the choices of the awards panel.
