Courtois to be Offered Improved Chelsea Deal

Courtois to be Offered Improved Chelsea Deal

Although Thibaut Courtois is tied to a contract, at Stamford Bridge, until 2019, the fear is there that the 25-year-old Belgian international is on the radar of the Spanish giants of Real Madrid.

Speculation is rife that, this summer, Real Madrid will make a move to take either Courtois or David de Gea to the Bernabeu.

According to the Telegraph, Chelsea have acted swiftly to ensure they do not lose a valued member of their 2016 / 2017 title winning side.

Our referenced source is inferring that Chelsea are looking to tie Courtois to a new contract that would see the Belgian`s salary increase from £100,000 a week to £150,000 a week.

However, there is also the suggestion that Courtois, aware of Real Madrid`s interest, could sit tight and see how the situation unravels before making a decision as to the next chapter of his career.

It could be a fraught summer as we wait for official news confirming Courtois has put pen-to-paper.
