Chelsea Linked (Again) With Stoke Keeper
This summer will, we`re sure, see some changes in the goalkeeping personnel at Stamford Bridge.
We`re pretty certain that Asmir Begovic will leave Chelsea to seek regular first-team football with Bournemouth a very likely destination.
We`re also concerned that Thibaut Courtois could be the subject of a swoop by Real Madrid.
Therefore, we`re not surprised that speculation is linking Chelsea with the acquisition of a top keeper.
According to the Daily Star, Chelsea are one of a number of clubs interested in the Stoke City keeper, Jack Butland, the others supposedly being Manchester United Arsenal and Manchester City.
Butland, 24-years-of-age, has recently returned to the Stoke City starting eleven after being side-lined with an ankle injury for almost a year.
Ironically, Butland was linked with a move to Stamford Bridge before he opted to join Stoke, believing that the presence of Petr Cech between the posts for Chelsea would seriously hamper his chances of regular first-team football.
However, you get the impression the only way in which Butland would move to SW6 would be if we were to lose Courtois!
