Atletico Madrid in for Diego Costa

Atletico Madrid in for Diego Costa

We`re all fairly certain that, after the recent shenanigans that have gone on between Antonio Conte and Diego Costa, the Brazilian born Spanish international striker will not be pulling on a Chelsea shirt again in anger.

But what is to happen to Diego remains sketchy!

Today, lurking in the pages of the Sunday People is the insinuation that Atletico Madrid, despite operating under a transfer embargo whereby any new signings can`t play until January, are keen to buy-back their former striker.

However, deal has several clauses:

1 - The Spanish side are only willing to pay a fee of £26 million for the striker, £6 million less than Chelsea originally paid for the player, however clauses in the deal would see that figure rise once certain stipulations are met.

2 - Atletico Madrid would like Chelsea to hang on to the player until he is able to complete the move in January and kick-start a second career with the club he obviously hankers for a return to.

3 - The Spanish side have also asked that Chelsea do not play Diego in any of their Champions` League group games, thereby not making the striker cup-tied.

It remains to be seen if the terms and conditions are acceptable to Chelsea Football Club.

They're just riding on a ghost bike. they better fokeout 50m or they forget it. that's disrespectful. tell me any good striker that's worth 25m in this current market.? They are jokers and I hope this time the papers are telling lies.

That's very disrespectful of Atletico Madrid. I think we should be the one dictating the terms and conditions here or else someone will be left to rot in the reserves.

Rubbish. If Atletico needs him, pay the market price for WC striker. Atleast £50m for start of negotiation. For the mentioned £26m + £6m in bonus, we better keep Costa on the bench or training ground itself.
