Tottenham vs. Chelsea - Conte Going With 4 At The Back
Antonio Conte has slim pickings this weekend as he looks to write his XI for the game 'away` to Tottenham at their new Wembley home.
With a long list of injuries and suspensions, coupled with a squad depleted by a lack of signings, Conte`s options are limited to say the least. Such is the dilemma facing him, he may be forced to change from his favoured 3-4-3 formation and change to a 4-2-3-1 set-up.
Cesc Fabregas and Gary Cahill are both suspended following their dismissals in the game against Burnley that ended in a 3-2 defeat. The change of formation could see an unused centre back pairing of Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen. Let`s hope they`ve been working hard on that in the week. With N`golo Kante and David Luiz in front of them. Luiz and Kante would be able to offer protection to the two newbies. Full backs would be Marcos Alonso and Cesar Azpilicueta.
The attacking end of the field depends on the recovery of Pedro from injury. Assuming Pedro doesn`t make it, Alvaro Morata may have to play in his less favoured wing position along with Victor Moses, leaving Willian roaming around creating havoc. Michy Batshuayi would play as the lone striker.
Should Pedro be available Batshuayi drops to the bench and Morata goes up top.
These players are really going to need to keep their heads, there need to be 11 Chelsea players on the pitch at the end of the game. It is going to need a good deal of discipline by all.
What are you suggestions as to how the manager can juggle his small squad of players. Please feel free to add them in the comments box below.
