Thibaut Learning The Chelsea Way

Thibaut Learning The Chelsea Way

Thibaut Courtois is someone that Chelsea fan's have found hard to grow attached to as the 'man between the sticks.' In his time as Chelsea's number 1 shot-stopper, he has rarely let the side down. Obviously he`s made mistakes, it's inevitable in the position he plays and generally they result in goals against.

Why the animosity then, it could be that he`s said he would like to move to one of Spanish giants. Or, that he ousted Chelsea legend Petr Cech at the start of the 2014-2015 season. Whatever the reasoning, Courtois was seen earning brownie points after the game against Tottenham at Wembley.

The Evening Standard run an article that shows Courtois staying on the pitch long after his teammates had gone. He was waiting to present his playing shirt to a young child in the crowd wearing a goalkeepers replica jersey. The crowd cheered the Belgian international before singing his name as he left the field.

The same article quotes Courtois following the crucial victory,

"We played with some different players against Tottenham than we had when we won the League in May. We will try to work hard and maybe after the international break we will know what our full squad is."

Looking to win over the Chelsea faithful even more the same publication The Evening Standard has Courtois speaking about the lack atmosphere created by the Tottenham fans in their new temporary home,

"They have the capacity now to bring a lot of fans into the stadium. If they make more noise it would be better for them but in the first half, if you have to put some noise over the speakers to make some atmosphere, I don't think it is working very well."

Tottenham had hooked a drum up to a loud speaker.

"In the second half they were pressing and 70,000 people started to wake up."

Courtois learning to court favour with those who pay his wages. Let`s hope he carries on helping Chelsea work their way up the league and onto Champions League success.

A banter in the right time but I still don't like this guy. He is not going to end up being a legend here. I see him leaving soon. I hope I am wrong.

Costa: But speaking last Friday, Costa told ESPN: "If Atletico and Chelsea don't come to an agreement and Atletico don't make a big effort, I can't keep on wanting to play for a club that isn't going to make a bigger effort to try and sign me."

This is not a Diego Costa article. How about staying on-topic?
