Conte`s View on Palace Axing De Boer
The big news of the day has been the announcement that Crystal Palace have sacked Frank de Boer.
The Dutchman has been relieved of his duties having lost his first four Premier League games in charge and with his side yet to score a Premier League goal this season.
We all know that being a football manager is a perilous career, in the early stages of last season, after Chelsea had been beaten by Liverpool (h) and Arsenal (a), there were mutterings relating to the future of our own Antonio Conte.
Thankfully, the board had faith in their appointment and the rest, as they say, is history.
At his pre-match press conference, ahead of the Champions League game against FK Qarabag, Antonio Conte had this to say about the sacking of De Boer, remarking to the media,
'I am sorry for him. It is normal when you start to work you try to ask for a bit of time for your work. I am sorry for him. To be a coach in the league is a great experience and to have only four games I am sorry for him. It is a pity. It is always very difficult to talk about the situations of another team, but for the man I am sorry for him.
'We know very well that our job is this. One game you win, you are top then you lose and you are the worst coach. Not just in England but the whole world. It is important to always have the right balance to judge. Every club must judge the work of the coach and sometimes there is a bit of emotion and you make a decision very strong after an emotional moment.'
Four games were all they gave him, absolutely shocking.
But what are your views on the De Boer sacking?
