Crystal Palace 2 Chelsea 1 - Post Match Horror Facts

Crystal Palace 2 Chelsea 1 - Post Match Horror Facts

Following the disappointing, bordering on the embarrassing, defeat against Crystal Palace, at Selhurst Park, on Saturday, we`ve wiped away the tears to bring you some post-match fascinating facts.

• In inflicting a defeat on Chelsea, Roy Hodgson joins a select group of two managers, Sam Allardyce being the other, who have registered a win against Chelsea with 4 different Premier League clubs - Blackburn, Crystal Palace, Liverpool and West Bromwich Albion.

• The own goal Cesar Azpilicueta was credited with, was Crystal Palace`s first goal in the Premier League this season, ending a run of 64 minutes without a goal. The goal was something we feared would happen in an article we published earlier this week - Click Here.

• The 2-1 defeat, inflicted by Crystal Palace, was our second consecutive loss in the Premier league, the other defeat coming against Manchester City, it is only the second time Chelsea, under Antonio Conte, have lost consecutive Premier League games, the other occasion being last season when Chelsea lost to Liverpool (h) and Arsenal (a).

• Crystal Palace`s surprise victory meant that they became only the sixth team, starting the game at the bottom of the Premier League table, to register a win against the reigning Champions.

Let`s hope things get better against Roma, at Stamford Bridge, on Wednesday night.

After the consecutive defeats of last season came the 13games unbeaten run! Maybe we should expect same this season.

@ Jerry... I think this time we'll need more than 13 game winning streak to have a chance of catching the high flying Manchester clubs. And we may also need a miracle to achieve that else, we should just shift our focus from retaining the league to winning at least one domestic cup.
