Parity with De Gea Could Still See Courtois Leave Chelsea
It has been interesting, over the last couple of days, to read your comments in the articles relating to the future of Thibaut Courtois.
The general consensus of opinion seems to be that the Belgian keeper, if he has doubts about his Chelsea future, should be sold.
Last week, you may recall an article we ran on our front-page whereby it was claimed that Courtois, if he were to put pen-to-paper on a new deal, would want salary parity with David de Gea, at Manchester United.
That article prompted further responses after the round of fixtures this weekend that suggested you were in no doubt that, on recent displays, de Gea is far better between the posts than Courtois.
Yesterday, lurking in the pages of the news source, the Evening Standard, is the suggestion that even if Chelsea were to offer 25-year-old Courtois parity, salary-wise, with de Gea, there is no guarantee that Courtois would put pen-to-paper and seal the deal.
Does anyone else get the feeling that speculation relating to the future of Thibaut Courtois is going to run and run?
Your thoughts on the subject matter would be most appreciated in our comments facility beneath this article.
