Chelsea Launch 'Anti-Semetic Chanting` Investigation
Aside from what was an unfortunate night on the pitch, with Chelsea suffering a humiliating 4-1 defeat against Watford, it appears that all was not well amongst the travelling support.
Just days after the club launched a 'Say No to Anti-Semitism' campaign, it is being reported that anti-Semetic language was chanted by some sat in the away end.
The club is reporting that they were informed of the chanting by a fellow Chelsea supporter who, offended by what was filling the night sky, reported the incident to stewards policing the away end.
In response, Chelsea have issued a statement which reads,
'Anti-Semitism has no place in our club, football or wider society.
'Anyone found guilty of anti-Semitic language or behaviour will face action from the club, including bans, and will be asked to attend equality education courses.
'We welcome the fact that Chelsea fans have reported this behaviour, which shames our club.'
The incident is now the focus of an investigation with the club co-operating with Watford police with the offenders set to be banned, when identified.
