Chelsea Legend to make a Decision on his Future
Last May, when Chelsea lifted the 2016 / 2017 Premier League trophy after a marvellous campaign, we also said our farewell, in emotional scenes, to our Captain, Leader and Legend, John Terry.
Terry, with his contract up, bid farewell to the club he had served for all of his career.
However, the former England captain wasn`t ready to hang his boots up and after studying various option, offered to sign for Steve Bruce, at Aston Villa.
Since swapping the famous blue shirt for the claret and blue of Aston Villa, Terry has played his part in assisting the fallen giants in their quest to regain their Premier League status.
After returning from a foot injury, Terry`s Villa side have strung together a series of wins and now sit second in the Championship table.
But, at 37-years-of-age, Terry has a difficult decision to make, whether to call time on his career come May or continue for another season.
According to the well-respected news source, The Telegraph, Terry will delay his decision until the end of the current season.
However, delving into his time at Villa Park, we`re struggling to find anyone with a bad word to say about Terry, with several of those he`s come into contact with at Villa Park commending him on the way his attitude and professionalism has influenced the squad both on and off-the-field.
But, if Terry decides to sign on the dotted line for another year, has he still got what it takes to be a Premier League regular?
Furthermore, would he play against his beloved Chelsea?
But, Steve Bruce will, no doubt, also be considering the growing influence Terry has had behind the scenes, could Bruce be contemplating using Terry in a different role, more aligned to coaching than playing?
Personally, I`d be surprised if Terry wasn`t around in one role or another next season wouldn`t you!
